C99

Im just starting to research.... I gotta say ... I love ICmag but the search engine here sucks.

I cant search for C99 - "The following phrase is either to short, to long, or to common"

lol..... so I cant search for terms that are very common? Common knowledge cant be obtained? Also you cant search for terms like 3x3, 4x4, ect, ect. Makes it really tough to do research. Cinderella 99 brings some results, but most people refer to her as C99 in threads so Im missing out on the majority of posts made about her.

Anyway .... Ild like to find something close to the original C99. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to breeders or where to look?

I saw in '08 cannacopia had four packs of original C99 that they were going to grow out and let pollinate naturally with no selection.. but the thread died before completion so Im not sure what happened with that.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Search for "Cinderella99" and you will find all the threads you need.

Also "Mosca C99", "Female Seeds C99", "Wally Duck C99" and "Bros Grimm C99" !

Hope I helped :)

Edit: Also, what did you want to know? I grew C99 for around 6 months and loved every second. I can try and answer some questions for you as i researched C99 for a long time before I managed to find a pack for sale.

Thanks for the input.

Mainly what breeders is most recommended... most of the threads I saw are from several years ago and dont necessarily reflect current quality?? Really Im just trying to score a pack that is as original as possible rather then a remade version. I see mosca has a c99 Bx1 ... I might look into that.

Thanks for the leads. ;)

Hi Ozz,

I understand about the ICMAG search limitation. An easy way around it is to just use a Google search with this syntax:

c99 site:www.icmag.com

That will give you plenty to choose from. If recent posts are preferred just also use the Google search constraint for your date preference.

BTW, yes that Mosca C99 BX1 is a great choice! Also check Dutchgrown's terrific C99 hybrids (several currently 2 for 1 at Seed Boutique).

Good luck!

I've grown a couple of breeders C-99 but loved the Brothers Grim the best. I had Mr. Soul giving me tips. He was the coolest.

Thanks much ....

Mine amigo....

I worked some of Joey weed's F2's against some original Bros Grimm stock and came up with this line

Called it the High gloss line....

a few lucky individuals received a big pinch of these beans a few years back..

I'm still proud of that line..

I kept the phenos wide open from Soul's work and didnt bottleneck it with the stupid pineapple pheno ..

allowed all phenos to come to the forefront even hazey sativa dom phenos surfaced like this gal...

You'd be hard pressed to find any breeder's offerings today that are a representation of what C99 really offered back in the day with regards to phenos from original beans ..

too many have influenced their selections leaning toward the pineapple pheno types and bred with that solely ...

A shame really as there was so much to offer in the originals
You could have went in at least 4 directions if you wanted ..

Mosca and Wallyduck. Gypsy's F2s are good as well. Don't know if those are still available. I grew out the 2003 collection and it was pretty good but I didn't keep it around because I had so many beans that I was running through. :joint:

Mosca f1 and NuggetShiner are the two that I'm debating between. Both seem to offer the full variety of flavors that C99 offers as opposed to only focusing on the pineapple pheno.

i grown moscas c-99bx and the pheno that always showed up was the pineapple which it unbelievable great ,has it all smell, nice sized buds and look with a huge stoned head rush thats like doing mach 2 for a good bit, this strain knocked around old veterans that could handle everything i have thrown at them and best of all it is finished around 50days or less and very easy to grow

Anyone grown out both FMS and Mosca versions? I ran FMS one earlier this year and it was great - very vigorous, symmetric plant that yielded well and was potent. It had a strong sweet grapefruit smell in veg (and I don't mean grapefruit-ish, straight Caribbean Crush soda smell exactly) but sadly the aroma didn't carry too well to finished flowers. Going to do one or another of Mosca's C99 varieties some time, and maybe do a C99 x Nebula cross at some point.
