:canabis: hello everyone!
for the past few months ive been doing nothing but soaking in information on growing, both indoors and out. I have decided to go with Home Depot's C13 cabinet for flowering, using a 430hps air cooled. and i havent completely decided on what to use for veg. yet, maybe another c13 or the c4, with a 150 mh, havent decided. anyways, i was hoping maybe there are some c13 growers around these forums, and if there is, maybe we can get a c13 thread going. im aware of the og c13 threads, but i like it over here waaaaay more than over there. i cant stand having to over there to get good C13 info!
If theres any c13 users out there, lets here from you!
thanx and stay poz-fluffhead

what up fluffhead ??? im setting something up very similler to a c13 right now .. all i can say is if your using a 430 ,, even if its air cooled ,, i hope your putting it somewhere that is cool .. that boy is going to build up some heat. 86 watts per sq. ft. being a c13 is only 5 sq ft .. good luck hope it all goes well.

Whats up Fluff. I use a wardrobe closet similar to the C13. Same thing but from different place. I run a 400 watt HPS in a Aircooled hood inline with that is a 265 cfm squirrel cage fan for exhaust. My temps never go above 83 except in summer. Other than that I get some nice beautiful buds from it. Good Luck.

Around 70. Ambient temperature plays a big role in how hot things will get inside the Cabinet unless piped in from outside.

i've got a 400 in mine with a supersun hood my temps are running 76-78 on the high end and 72-68 on the low end ,but i'm able to keep the doors open all the time where i have it set up i use a stanley fan set on low and it keeps the light nice and cool with the plants at 12" below with one fan blowing air in

you keep the grow room doors open all the time?? im not trying to be rude at all , so dont take it that way , but dosent that defeat the purpose of using a 400? wouldnt you be better off with a 250 with the door closed?

Well I would think its all releative to the footprint of the light. We have the same hood buzzerd. The higher the light the more loss of lumens you loose due to them not reflecting back. But watts per sqaure foot are great with that light in a lil box.

well i was thinking that as well ,, a 400 that is kept right on top of the plants , in that small space , should reep the bennifits of that light

my c13 has reflective mylar insde. I mounted my air cooled 400 hps hood outisde the cabinet on top. My temps hover around 75-80 degrees F.

I move my pants instead of moving the light. Same effect in the end.

I use an old appliance box with a 2x2 table for vegging. I can also turn my veg chamber into a bloom chamber. I run veg with 2-125 cfls and can also run 400w hps here as well. No need tho.

I started with a 430 in a cool tube but... I had the cabinet upstairs in and apartment in the summer... Nothing but problems fighting that thing. Put a 250 in it and all was well. A C13 has 5 square feet of space... this will net you 50 watts per square foot.

Works for me...

do i keep my grow room doors open ? no just the c-13 and at roughly 80w a sq ft there's a little room for waste at this stage
to some extent you loose some light out of the doors but not when the light is as close as it at this stage of growth your getting max lumens ....now when i say they are open yes they are but they are closed......
there is a 5 gal bucket in front dead center of the door with a fan blowing in and the doors are closed to the bucket and this provides about a 6 " gap that acts like a flume on a chimney i have an exhaust fan hooked to the front of the hood and on the back wall i have left the fitting on but drawing air straight through the cabinet through the hood i'll be updating my thread tomorrow and i'll take a couple of pics to show you what i mean my thread is here: http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=6857

if you look at the first pic you can see how much the footprint of the light diminishes as you increase the height at which it's set(42" in pic) in fact you can see where the highest lumen area of the light is and how it fades away roughly at 18- 28 inchs deep
and in pic 2 the light is set at 12" from the top of the tubs and as you you can see very little light is wasted and there is nothing else in the cab but the light and the tubs everything is mounted and hidden outside for a quick diisconnect for stealth

Mill's Pride C13 Wardrobe Closet
This closet is approximately 5 square feet (30"w x 24 1/2"D x 69 3/4"H*) which is perfect for an air-cooled 250 watt HPS to deliver a desirable 50 watts per square foot.

buzzerd, nice clean layout.

What kind of yield you getting from that room. Curious as I to plan on doing a Cabinet grow. But I plan to make my closet a bit bigger. I hope tp get 6 decent sized plants under a 400w fixture.
