c13/24 cabinet

What are C13/C24 cabinets?

If I were to buy a cabinet and needed to cut it without power tools, what is an effective alternative tool? Im specifically referring to cutting into a side wall, I would imagine its an awkward process without the correct tool.

They are pre-fabricated closets/organization closets.By pre fabricated I mean all you need to do is purchase, take home, take out of box and assemble.

As far as cutting holes all you need is a drill and a hole saw...just attach the hole saw to the drill.

Here's an old picture of mine.

Jnugg's right, if you're using 4" ducting a hole saw works well I think they run about $20 at home depot and all you need is a drill. For 6" holes I've used a jigsaw. About the same price if you look on ebay.

Not too sure about non power tools though. maybe just use a thin saw blade and drill a hole to start from. It would probably just have to be a real small blade similar to a jigsaw blade.

They sell 6" hole saws too.

You can't find the C13 anymore and the C24 is a few inches smaller W and L... but can still fit a light. If you're lucky they make have overstock of C13s, but in general they are discontinued.

I tried manual cutting through that 3/4" Melamine backing and got about 10 minutes into it and said F this. Bought power tools and was glad I did...

The C13 is now a veg/mom cab though, and I flower in a HydroHut.

Sure Mill's Pride doesn't make C13/C24's anymore, but Closetmaid has picked up where they left off...check the link to see what I mean.

http://www.closetmaid.com/Look/Product_Catalog/index.cfm?category_id=1010&sub_category_id=315&next=1

A number of their products are similarly sized to the Mill's Pride cabs and are similarly construced. For instance, my Panopticab is a modded Flat Panel Base Cabinet (12283) and it looks nearly identical to an old C4 that a friend had.

Grab 'em at your local Lowe's...
