C02 need advice/opinions.. thanks

alright ive decided to bite the bullet and invest in some C02 after seeing undeniable results. going all out this run mychorriza, CO2, airpots.. as well as the best controlled area ive ever used. but ive got myself a question. i know running CO2 in a non closed environment is a waste. currently im pulling through my carbon filter than blowing through my cooltube and out the top of the cab. i can keep temps in 70s with the fan on half speed this way so i didnt use my second fan to save the little bit on elec bill.

can i redirect my exhaust from the light back into the grow area to circulate the C02 and not lose it? or should i redo the setup and use both fans to keep it seperate.

also. does anyone think reintroducing that exhaust would raise temps to much to be beneficial? ive heard CO2 works better in warmer temps. so it might be fine.

thanks

keep doing the same thing and seal your lung room. theoretically the only thing depleting co2 in the room are the plants, so if you properly seal the room and chinese fire drill the door when you come in and out, you're only wasting 80-120cfm's per tank change.

i dont think that you understand. i would lose a lot more than that.

my room ventilation goes. flower area>> carbon filter>> fan>>> light>>exhaust out of grow room. i exchange the air multiple times a min. so in theory i need to do in like

flower area>> carbon filter>> fan>>> light>>exhaust back into grow room

or just take the duct off the other side of the light and seal the hole i have now for the exhaust, that way it just goes right back in. no stupid crazy straw duct work... well shit thats easy.. how did i not see that. haha

If you're going to do co2, you need to stop ventilating and cool the room with a/c. You can still cool the light by pulling air in from outside the cab., through the light and then outside the cab again. But pulling air from the cab, thru the light and back into the cab is kinda pointless.

thats kinda what i thought. so i will have to just use both fans then? i do run an AC so i could conceivably just dump the hot air back in and use the ac to keep temps steady.

but if somethings worth doing its worth doing right. and while i would rather not have to more work than is necessary. if one way is right and one is wrong ill have to do the right thing. as there is no sense in doing it wrong.

Use 1 fan to cool lights. Air from outside threw lights back outside.
Other fan works the carbon filter.
AC cools room.
Co2 stays where it should.
Must run a dehumidifier.

why must i use the dehuy? i dont have one so thats another issue.

Because you're humidity will be too high if you don't. Unless you're in some high altitude place like Colorado or some very dry area like a desert you will need to remove all of the moisture the plants transpire into the air. Without fresh air or a dehuey, it will get too humid, your buds will be airy and/or they will mold.

On the subject of doing things right, if you're going to drop the coin for an a/c, co2 setup and dehuey, why not just ditch the cabinet and turn the whole lung room into a grow?

i already have the a/c... because as agreed by the wife i get this area. haha.

i cant figure how ill get a dehuy to pull thde air from my chamber to it so itll work. my ac is outside of the grow area and piped in.

on another subject, if i dedicate a fan to cool my light and have it not connected to the carbon filter piping.. do i redirect that air back into the grow chamber. if not ill be pulling air out through the carbon filter and it wont be sealed.

im trying to gather things now in hopes that ill get a room to rock someday. thats why i have the other thread about the iponic.. thinking that, a mini split and a few lights should give me enough flowers/concentrates to stay stoned for eternity. haha.

The air cooling your lights should not go back in the room.
The air cooling your lights should not come from in the room.
In and out.
Dehumidifier.
Not to be a dick but if your looking at the iponic what are the 3 readings on the front?
Temp,co2,humidity.
You need to keep all in check.

no, forgive me. im not a moron. i completely understand how to builld a sealed room. i also can keep my cab mid 70s. RH around 35. my water is ph'd has correct ppm. im not new to this. but when i threw this cab together it wasnt inteded for a sealed grow. all i have to do to make the light cooled by separate air is hook up another fan. not hard.. its already vented out of the cab.

but my carbon filter vents out of the cab as well so i have to eliminate that issue. because the wasted air would contain CO2 and would be pointless to supplement with it.

so with the ac pumping cold air in and it not being exchanged. it will raise the RH?
if so, how do i get a dehuy to sit outside the grow chamber and still dehumidify the air inside?

If you completely understand how to build a sealed room why are you asking simple questions?
Unless your growing in a shoe box just put the dehu in the room. On a shelf if floor space is not available.

it is pretty much a shoe box man.. bout 24" deep, 4 ft wide, and 6' tall.
like i said earlier, im trying to get all these things so im able to use them in this house once.. maybe twice. then once i find a good place ill build out a room again, using all the controllers and environment equip ive accumulated. as of right now though, im stuck here.

but anyway, i absolutely can not fit it in room. barely able to stuff two plants in there. hence wanting to maximize harvest

i have a portable ac sitting outside that is piped in. but i see no feasible way of doing that with a dehuy

Don't run co2. Just use lots of air flow.
No need to go all nuts on a closet.
Run it how it's set up till you can get atleast a small bedroom.

well then i got the airflow covered. im one of those people that cant leave well enough alone. you know a constant tinkerer. i guess ill just wait it out
