C02 & Do i need Aircooled hood?

E

Evgeni_Malkin

Considering I am producing smalll bud(Colas) I am adding a C02 tank. Please correct me if I am wrong.

-Co2 Tank (like ones used at resteraunts on pop machines)
-Regulator (what kind of regulator?)
-Timer (What kind of timer?)

About my room how sealed does it need to be?
also Do i have to shut of exhaust?
Do i need an air cooled hood to add C02 into my room?
*Can someone tell me the best way to add C02 into my flowering room that is not really sealed, has exhaust, oscilating fan, and no air cooled hood.

YES -Co2 Tank (like ones used at resteraunts on pop machines)
Search ebay for CO2 regulator and you'll find tons of them-Regulator (what kind of regulator?)
A timer that allows you to set it by seconds, so that you can inject for 30 seconds if need be or even 90 seconds depending on CO2 levels-Timer (What kind of timer?)

I would also recommend you getting a CO2 monitor - the kind that you hook up to your regulator. This will allow you to maintain a specific CO2 level in the grow room.

About my room how sealed does it need to be? It needs to be sealed enough so that you dont lose CO2, otherwise you are flushing money down the drain.

also Do i have to shut of exhaust? Uhhh, yes, otherwise it will suck out all your CO2 and you will, once again, be flushing money down the drain.

Do i need an air cooled hood to add C02 into my room? No you do not... an air cooled hood is used to help keep temps down and has nothing to do with CO2... however, I would recommend one just to help keep temps down (unless you dont have any probs with it).

I'd recommend you do more reading up on CO2 before making the purchase... when I originally set mine up it ran close to 600.00 USD with everything I needed to get it set up the 'right' way.

Well I have to do any mods to the tank?
does the regulator just screw on?
40$ tank refill
100$ deposit

how much more yield can i expect?
So the C02 is released in incriments of a few minutes? (ex. every 10 mins it turns on for 1 min)?????????????????????

Hey Evgeni,

No mods are required to the tank - you just screw the regulator on to it and turn the knob to dial in the amount of CO2 you want injected.

As far as injecting every few minutes - this is where a CO2 monitor is REQUIRED. Trying to guess how much CO2 your plants are using is a joke and a total waste of money imo.

With a monitor: You plug the power cord from your regulator (yes, it's turned on by power and should have a power cord coming from it...not like a scuba regulator) into your monitor. Then you set the level of CO2 you want - say 1500ppm. The monitor will then activate the regulator to inject CO2 until it reaches 1500ppm....then it stops. When the level drops below that, the monitor will reactivate the regulator and another injection will occur to bring it back up to 1500ppm...and it repeats.

Now adding CO2 alone wont give you the kick ass results you're after. You must also increase the heat (which will happen since you'll be turning off the exhaust during these injection times) and you will need to increase the nutes since the plant will be gobbling them up due to increased growth.

CO2 is far from a 'plug-n-play' option... there are countless threads on it from us currently using it... READ READ READ.
