c02 and heat

You'll get results at lower temps - you just won't be utilizing the CO2 fully under lower temps. Personally, I wouldn't run it at less than 90f after seeing the results it can provide.

Versus what?

There's really no reason to run it cooler unless you like even higher power bills. Make sure to use a silicate product (like Barricade or Protekt) and they'll love every second of it.

At 70 you probably won't see any differences using CO2...at 80 you might see a slight increase in yeild/growth...at 90 you're probably looking at 20-30% increases (depending on how dialed in the grow is).

Potassium Silicate products help the plant deal with higher temps & drought conditions - plus they work great as PH up.

Indeed, for the CO2 to be maximized to its full potential the temps need to be a little bit higher than optimal. MTF-Sandman knows what he is talking about.

One point I'd like to make,I also grow in high heat with coo2 enrichment.Normally,I grow perpetually with my flowering plants in different stages approx 30 days apart, when the 15 finished plants came out 15 mature vegged plants went in to join my 30 day flowering plants. On my most recent grow, the plants finished beautifully at high levels of co2 and heat.On this last grow for awhile, all the plants will be coming out at the same time.During the last couple/few weeks of 12/12,the plants are ripening and not utilizing the excess co2.If I bring my co2 level down to 500 the last few weeks,it only makes sense to kick down the temps into the 70s also.I'm about 30 days in on my last couple dozen plants flowering in 2 gal,I will kill the high temps and co2 enrichment in two weeks or so.I expect better coloration at the very least, the lower temps towrds the end may also assist ripening resulting in a better crop. When I resume growing again,my flowering plants will all begin and finish at the same time for this reason.

quick question if your running it at 90 should you water more frequently?

More frequently than at 85?That depends on container size and size of plants. One thing for certain, when 1500PPM is introduced for 12 hours straight at higher temps everything speeds up especially during the stretch.

Greetings peacetree

An increase in temperature translates into an increase in the plant's metabolic rate...therefore, all variables that factor into the metabolic equation should be increased as well. This includes: water, nutrients, Carbon Dioxide ppm, medium per root mass and light.

Sincerely,
Charles.

as opposed to 75:) with no co2,cool i undertsand it would speed up the metabolism so i guess it makes sense they would want to drink more and you could probably jack the ppms up just wasnt sure thanks for the info

how much hotter does Co2 make the temps go up? for example if ur at 85 degrees then shoot 1500 ppm of Co2 in there what will ur temps go up to?

Co2 is a gas and therefore doesn't produce heat,co2 generators use burners and can produce heat.Co2 tanks and regulators create no heat. The idea is not that co2 creates heat, its that co2 is best utilized at higher ambient temperatures between 85-90

so if your tank, burner, and regulator are outside your grow area...the Co2 gas itself will not raise temps?

ahh man that aint good news to me :badday: sorry to butt in on ur post icdog..i have 1 simple question....my temp rarely goes above 70f...i have just started using co2...after reading this post i have come to the conclusion that im wasting money...am i right?? sorry again icdog :bat:

For the high temps would that be general room temps or temps under the lights and close to the plants?

i was told by a dude at BGhydro that if i already had like mid to high temps in the 80's that adding Co2 in there would boost it up to mid 90's... so for sure Co2 doesnt raise temps at all?-
