your money is better spent elsewhere...cap is crap. no day/night functionality, no night idle for the fan for humidity, rated for 15 amps...meh

Thers always a CAP hater in the crowd.I have the cao co2 4e wich is a few upgrades up Ive had no issues .My humidity exhaust comes on at its set point day or nite and the 15amp thing is crap there not made for running lights .I run 2 inline fans and an ac when needed with no ill effects

yup run an xgc-1 and have had no issues (well i broke the teeth of the timer my fault though should have unplugged it. They had a new part rushed to me for free.).
And the same as jm, it's 15 amps run all my pumps, fans and dehumidifier with no issues.

i ran a co2-4 for about 3 years continuously without a failure. that being said, i just bought an autopilot cc and have yet to plug it in and get the room running.

While not ALL controllers from CAP are garbage the analog AIR controllers are nothing to write home about.

They are really just thermostats to kick on and off a cooling device or dehumidifier. They'll do the trick, but don't rely on the temperatures shown on the face plate. They seem inaccurate to me so I'd suggest using a digital thermometer to figure where you want your cut on/off points.

If you want something to kick on a cooling device when needed just grab their TMP-Dne and let a dehumidifier do its thing based on its built in controls.

Just my 2c.

I had the exact same experience. I posted about it awhile back but no comments. Thing was screaching like a mountain lion, heating up and ready to burst into flames.
I was about 4 mins from leaving the house.
I no longer own a CAP temperature controller.

That sucks ...so now that I am a little more familiar with the c.a.p. air1 I have realized using only cool air to cool you're environment sill causes excessive dehydration.. so I will invest in a TMP-Dne and AC I think everyone would agree?

thats the reason i upgraded ,once you start buying enviomental controllers best to go overkill cuz sooner or later you will want or need the upgrades .a high temp shut off is always nice to have as well
