Hi all
i Just put up my C-24 & looking to buy lights .
i wanted to get a 600 hps cooled hooded, but not sure how it will do in it.
i havent seen much about people using 600 in a C-24.
i was thinking about buying a portable blower from wal-mart for exhaust?.
im not too sure how that works.
anyhow have a C-24 with a 600 hps & fan setups with pics, will really help me out alot.
i just dont want to buy the wrong lights & fans ,, etc..
any help would be highly appreciated.
thank you.

LOL Deefinately don't go with a POS fan from walmart,HD or lowes.Get an inline centrifugal that can push 440+cfm if you plan on going with a 400w or 600w HPS.

I am growing in the original C13 with an air-cooled 400w HPS....check the link in my sig below.

why not get a portable blower , ive seen people using them on here.
where would i get an inline fan at? , i have no address to use for online ordering.
theres no hydro store either, around me.
just wal-mart , lowes ,HD.
right now im running 2 flowering room ,
1000 hps per room.
due to security reasons,im goin to have to shut down the 1000's & start doing them in cabs with new lights systems.
so now i got a C-24 built & waiting for more info on lights ,ects
c-13 smaller or bigger than c-24?

A C-24 with a 600? Lots of luck keeping it cool. Many C-24 users have great harvests with just a 150 and a little careful planning. Cheap to buy, cheap to run, minimal heat build-up, quiet to cool, and can be stealth as hell. Check out the link in my signature or the "150w HPS Club" thread.

1)Yeah sure you could use a blower from wallyworld or HD or Lowes, but sir I have never seen one used for a grow with 600+watts of light in use in a cabinet.

95% of the time people do itright the first time and get the inline that's needed..Yes there are people out there using those bathroom fart fan blowers and they say their grow is fine with it and it moves enough air.

Take into considerating bends in the ducting and abckpressure caused by attaching a carbon filter/scrubber.Simply put for the money they go for an Inline centrifugal is the best bet. They use extremely less power than a dayton blower to push an equal or greater amount of air that the similar dayton can push and has an extremely greater output of air over the daytons or lesser blowers when experiencing static presure/backpressure.

2) I seriously wouldn't worry about ordering an Inline centrifugal from online.

If you are concerned then just pick a reputable shop or browse Ebay.

Brands of Inlines to look for are

Vortex, 6" 449cfm
Eco Plus,6" 440cfm
Can-Fan,6" 265cfm & 6' H.O. 449cfm
Hurricane,6" 600cfm (I don't think this is a true cfm rating
FanTeck 6" model

3) If you're running two rooms with 1k HPS per room you should know what you are doing which is why I am so confused as to why you would even think about fart fans or Dayton blowers.

4) No.The C13 measures 2' x 2.5' x 6'

The C24 measures 18" deep x 4' (or just under that) wide x 6' tall

You have a total square footage of about 6 square feet (C13 has 5 square feet) and a total cubic footage of about 36 cubic feet.

600w HPS has been done in the original C22 which measured 2' x 4' x 6' which is a square footage of 8 square feet and a cubic footage of 48 cubic feet.

That's 2 extra square feet than the c24 has and 12 extra cubicfeet then the c24.

I'd say get a 430w HPS and some Fluoros or compact fluoros to add a few lumens for flowering per C24 cab.Use a 6" 265cfm to 6" 449cfm inline centrifugal per cab and carbon scrubber per cab.

My cab/C13 with A/C 400w HPS.

Dude definately go 600, I started with a 400 mh/hps and just bought a 600. If you do get a 400 go with a mh and a agrosun gold bulb for vegging, you will als be able to flower with that as well, but a 600 is the way to go

the problem with a c-24 is you dont have the depth to hang the light perpendicular to the floor so it has to be hung giong parallel. what happens with a 400 is there isnt enough light where the tip and the sockets are to get a good spread. to fill almost the whole cab with light you need to haveit about 18"-24" off the canopy, with a 600 you can drop it down to about 12" and get the same light distribution. losing those 4 inches made a huge difference in the way you can set up the reflector. In a c-24 you only have 19.5" of depth to use and most reflectors with socket are around 22-23"

I have 600 watts in mine...just not all in one bulb! (4 x 150; 60 sq ft of flowering screen!) If you try anything over a 400 without a centrifugal or (yuck!) a Dayton blower, you're going to be in trouble.

Listen to Pipedream...good advice.

my 600 is only 1.5 degrees above ambient using a vortex 449cfm fan

A Vortex is a centrifugal fan, no? Like I said, good luck cooling without a centrifugal or a Dayton, so what's your point?

Great delta on the temps, but that 449cmf fan opened up is pretty loud, right? What are your grow particulars, and average yields?

vortex opened up isn't loud at all...i run the same fan for my 400 hun. shits works great...ggyeah

my point has nothing to do with your advice on using a centifugal fan, its a must ( a dayton wont even keep temps low enough with a 400). My point had to do with the advise of using a 400. I have both a 400 mh/hps and a 600 hps. There is on;y 19.5" of depth in a c24 if you use a 400 you have to move the light from one side of the cab to the other on a daily basis if you want to keep it 12" from the tops If you dont want to move it , it needs to be about 2ft above for the light to be able to reach end to end, with a 600 you can put it in one spot 12" from the top and still have light from end to end.
