i'm a small closet grower, need a 400 bad. do the enclosed hoods really make a difference on heat temps? 5 degrees would make a difference in my setup.
if you mean an air cooled hood, then it is yes. if its not air cooled(but enclosed), it could trap heat under light, but a side less type hood/reflector can let more heat rise if there is not limited head space for the heat to rise.
if you are in a closet you want to vent....get a good enclosed reflector now and vent or wait and waste time and money and do it later anyways.....trust me I did the same thing.....30 days I moved out the closet......always prepare for extra...best of luck
An air-cooled light is almost a necessity when you're growing in a small space. Like Time2Unite said, especially in the summer. In winter you can either slow down the fan to get the correct temp, or recycle the heat coming off the lamp into your living area. Regardless, if you don't get one, you'll definitely wish you had. Peace...
Yep!!!
Everyones setup is a bit different but with some good planning in your duct work setup, it'll work great. Make sure you tape or seal the joints on the suction side from the light to the fan real good. The heat you can't eliminate is what you feel radiating from the bulb to the plants, but eliminating the heat on 5 out of six sides of a reflector is alot of help. Get the glass.
