Buying a cmh (lec) conversion kit.

Hey guys how are things? I am looking to upgrade my equipment from 600w hps to the new fangled cmh (lec) style of lights.

I grow with the bulbs vertically hung and unshaded so i was looking at some conversion kits that contain the ballast and the bulb adapter to fit in my old mogal sockets.

It seems that the brand name equipment on the market is rather expensive (like $700 +) so I was looking at a couple off brand ballasts and was wondering if they would do the job or simply junk?

Here are a couple links.

Prism lighting science off of eBay (looks the same.)

Also the phantom ballasts too

Would these ballasts work OK driving the new Phillips cmh bulbs?

Does anyone suggest a different ballast conversation kit that would be equal or better in quality and performance?

Thanks for getting me up to speed

Peace.

I bought one and fired it up. Seems bright for a 315 compared to a 600. Haven't made a run with it yet. All was nicely packed, the bulb going into the adapter seemed a bit cheesy but i got it in.

Saw an decent thread on the subject - spoke in a bit of detail on buying parts and pieces off of ebay. Not sure which section it was in, but it was recent. Would sure like to give one a try when I can .

I use a 630 on my 5x5 test tent, 3 Prism 315 ballast. All work fine. I also use a wellthink 315 no issues. I have 1 old style Phantom 315 works perfectly. I'm having issues with the New Phantom II 315 Ballast. Sometimes it wont fire. The is the 2nd Phantom II ballast to have this Issue. I wont buy another 315 Phantom II. All the info you will ever need on these is here
