depending on your budget you can buy very high quality carbon filters or if u r "cashpoor" but resourceful this site has threads to guide you through the building process.

"spectrapure" is the brand of R.O. i own its sold by the hydro shop i deal with

the config for ur cabs will take some more info and some thought before u start cutting/drillin holes.

tell us about ur cabs, size. wattage of lighting/type of lighting etc...

RR - I've been venting a C13 into a Can 9000 (4" 120 CFM) for 2 years now and there is still no odor. Veg all the way through flower. I exhaust with a 175 CFM Vortex on full speed. I'm a little mismatched for my setup (it works fine) but ideally you'd want a filter rated a little higher CFM than the output of your exhaust.

Unless you DIY don't bother with refill... it's messy and a huge PITA, and hard to pack the carbon back in like the factory does it.

Can't help on RO... still need one!

so how long do store bought filters last?

i bought the "ECO" 99 dollar jobs and they work great still, its been years!!

just keep the outer filter clean/changed regular dont run too high of himidity thru em as that tends to clog the pores and resulting in loss of performance
( remove the stank)

Check Ebay
RO filters cheap! Good ones too. Wish I had gone threw Ebay!
1/4 of the price I paid and better too!
Not sure about Carbon Filters there but check them out too.
My Carbon Filter ran over a year 24/7 still good to go.
You'll need to change the RO filters more often depending on your water quality.

My first C filter was a 4" "Phat Filter" and I was disappointed. After that I made 2 DIY filters and they work great if you really pack in the C.

If you have a menards near you they have nice RO systems for $120us. Holding tank and all. I had one, but ended up returning it - needed to buy insulation for the house!!! Come to find out, I should get another. Our well water here is 333ppm. Kinda scary!

Best of luck.

I purchased my RO system from Ebau from the seller AquaSafe:

http://stores.ebay.com/The-Aqua-Safe-Pure-Water-Shop

I live in a city with hard water.. took my ppm readings from 300ppm down to 12ppm

I've been using the system for about a year now and it's been working with no problems. Well, ok...ONE problem. When I moved, I disassembled it and reassembled it at the new place. There's a connection from the RO system for the wastewater line to the sink drain. The connection on the RO side drips one drop probably every hour. I've just been using a little cup to collect the water and then I empty the cup every 2 weeks or so, but thats only because Im only too lazy to go out and buy the $1 PVC connector to replace it :)

Other than that, this system has been flawless and I highly recommend it. It is a snap to set up.
