This thread goes on because of dedicated oil heads like hashmasta and the chief. I wasnt around for bout 2 years and it was like coming right back home when I finally remembered my password . Glad to see that everyone for the most part has been doing well and keep on teaching these up and coming pot scientists whats what...peace

has anyone tried running thier oil thru a centrifuge? would this futher pruify the thc. in otherwords would the oil be separated from the thc or what? any insights would greatly be appreciated also how should i go about purging the butane from the oil so that the oil gets hard? i saw hashmater say "yo dude i never freeze it. use dry bud, dont break it up too much, and you always get rock hard oil pretty much, if you purge similarly to me. it takes only an hour or so from start to finish." how do you(hashmaster) purge, with the heating pad on high for an hour or do you have another way? Also as a D.I.Y'er i was wondering if it matters where the screen to hold your bud is located?

i use a frying pan of hot water to evaporate the liquid tane, then transfer the water in frying pan with oil on top in its glass dish, to an electric stove. i turn the heat on to raise the water temp to close to boiling then turn it off. i put a lid on the oil dish to keep temps hot in the dish for fast purging, i do a top flame purge a couple times to pop bubbles with a butane torch on low, and turn the burner on a couple times to keep it close to boiling.

I reckon the climate your in makes a big difference to how hard it is. I noticed with the oil I make after a real good purge its rock solid in winter, but when summer rolls round (it gets pretty humid here), then its a bit gooeyer.
Nothing wrong with it being gooey, I actually find it easier to dip my paper clip into for the spot of goodness

i always heat the surface of my oil dish gently to make it soft to get hits easily. hold it above the torch thats heating the ti.

nice ..i like the TOP flame purge stuff...i should get a nice torch to burn away the tane on top ...and i guess i could do a double boiler with rex dish on top to further purge...nice tips man i have a zip of all WHITE trim, it might as well be buds since the white is so trike coverd

anyways i just made a bomb batch of bho with 16 grams of 3 different kush shakes and 12 grams of buds mostly hindu kush i made some pretty bomb hash oil i was wondering if anyones knos how to turn the oil into WAX aka SUGER?

Question : How full should i pack my BHO tube?? The tube i have is a okief tube and has a 44 gram cap, but filling it with 44 grams of trim packed tightly lightly? does it even matter? if it does matter, how important is it?? i realize that you dont want it packed too tightly for venting, but how tightly can you pack it??

Last time i made BHO i used two cans of vector gas with a tube "fully loaded" but the returns were kinda dissapointing, assuming ih ad 44 grams of material in the tube at the time, were two cans enough?? rencetly someone told me i should used FOUR cans, is that too much tane?? vector cans contain 320 ml (10.6 ounces)of butane..four cans that is a lot? no?
Im gonna go buy some KING butane and do another run very soon already have a few zips of various kush trim and adding 2 entire clones(bud n all) to the mix as well... should have a nice variety of hash to make soon...would love to get my packing technique down better

I dont use an okief tube, but when I make BHO I preffer to do an ounce at a time and use 1 can of butane. Sometimes I would do 2 ounces at a time, but when I did that, for some reason I would get a better yield using 3 cans of butane. In my experience its much better to fill the tube loosly and not packed in. Then if you have an aircompressor handy blow air through the tube and get every last drop outta there when your finished with the gas.

The okief tube should be packed lightly. It might not weigh the exact grams recommemded. You also want the material to be lightly cut up not ground up though. My big tube is supposed to take 150 grams but i know i dont put that much material in it.



In the xtractor xl i pull between 11-25 grams of amber oil
