Busted seeds

I have a skunk x? plant that I seeded so I could give my buddy something to "put in the ground." (I alreay gave out my freebees). When I pulled the seeds I was suprised to find that a lot of them were just white-colored empty shells. I have had this happen before but not near as bad. Anyone know what might cause this? Is it bad genetics or am I screwing something up?
Thanks Gang!
Peace,
Willie

Chopping too early causes this  . usually I pollinate at the onset of flowering to prevent this(young buds) that way it gives the seeds a chance to mature 4-6 weeks. Don't chop til' seeds begin to split hull and are a dark color some may even fall off they are ripe at this point then u have to dry them 3-4 weeks for good germ ratios. u got to have patience  I think u chopped too early IMO. sorry to hear this goo' luck willie. Later , Big
