"Wow! It's crazy how such a little thing like leaving a bong out can get you pegged for so long."

5 seconds to get into it, 5 years to get out of it...:wallbash:

Alaskind, good to see you have your head on right and are sticking to the terms of your parole. People don't realize parole and probation are two different eggs. Keep doing what you're doing and don't break the law. Parole sucks, but not near as much as prison.....

Exactly..gotta play the game.

Hey jack, welcome to ic.mag-

Id like to think that it was a simple thing that got me busted, but the bong being visible was more of a symptom, than the problem. Im really sad to say that my lax attitude caused this. If it wasnt the bong in view than it would have been something else..... A security checklist is a good idea, as long as you discipline yourself to follow it.....

Wow, life in prison....prioritys change; Im really a laid back person by choice, but you have to be able to switch into a more passive/ aggressive character. I dont mean this in the commonly accepted way- more like keep your nose out of NE thing that doesnt concern you(passive) and very defensive of your own bussiness, space ect.(aggressive)....
There was more potential inside for personal danger than any place Ive lived, but IMHO its not all that random.... there are some people that dont understand the value of being unimportant. These are the guys that have to battle. Other high risk behaviors were; buying on credit, buying drugs/tobacco(expense,and $ management issues), playing sports....(temper tantrums ).At the yard (medium security) there were gangs of all types, but I had no trouble with any of them- I just kept my nose out of their business. I did sit with the guys of my race (meals) as this is the acceptable protacall. Id never segragate myslf by choice! As far as the cold killers, I interacted with many more mentally unsound guys..... One of my last cellies was a guy that was clinically scizophrenic. He was in for cutting a gals throat during his psychosis..... But IMO he wasnt cold, or demonic, or whatever dehumanizing buzzword- he was really ill though...
Its no surprise that the guys in on a sex beef had the toughest time, especially the child predators.....Ill let everyone form their own opinion on the justice of that situation.

If you grow, have an attny. on retainer, and have a fund put away for monthly needs, cause it makes a huge diierence if you get pinched....

Hello JJ, welcome.....
The scary thing to me is that if my P O violates me and back to prison Id go....some people here dont seem to understand that. I dont even have a guarantee that I keep my street time as the board in Id is famous for pulling it......had a dream the other night that I f'ed up & was going back-... I was never so happy to wake up at 3 am......:dance013:

They surly will make room for you at the penitentiary by releasing some one that shot or stabbed someone and accidentally didn't kill them. Sad state of affairs this war on drugs.

A-kind, Great thread and you have a great attitude. Had some friends inside and you handled it well, true test of a person's inner strength. Oregon is a great place and I spent ten years enjoying it. Just had to give you a shout and say right on, fighting the good fight. NS

I really appreciate you posting this and updating it. A solid lesson for everyone. I cant tell you how many times I go to someones house and they have their gear within eyesight of the front door. One friend just yells come in when you knock. You can see their bong from the street.

Anyways, glad your out and they havent fucked with your freedom yet..... most guys arent that lucky.

Welcome to Oregon (belated) I dont know that I'll ever leave this place. It's a happy home if you make it one and liberated freedom fighters are always welcome here

Cheers

Damn man, I almost can't believe people have to go to jail like that for a plant..

You made it though, mentally tough, prison is no joke.

Was there ever a fear of being raped or anything of the like while in there or if you just keep to yourself no one fucks with you? do guards prevent shit or they just watch and laugh? glad your back out, was jw..

Grow on brothers in arms!!

Quick update,..... Im living well, have a job, see my kids, now when I can afford to visit,....life has become "stable" again....Im looking forward to the day that this plant is legalized... or for this society to fail..... and begin anew.. We all will be under the control of other people until we will no longer accept it... the comfort of indulging in our chosen plant can not be substituted for the absolute pleasure of the sensation of bonds being released.... freedom from others comes at a personal cost......... will U pay it?

I've just read this thread and Im sorry that you had to go trough all that shit!

I don't know who you are, but it makes me happy to know that you are seeing your kids and feel that your life is stable! Family is important!

I understand that you want to grow, and i just want to say i have big respect for you, for taking the time to see the kids etc.

The time on the inside must have been a hell, its fucked up that you did that time for growing the herb.

In the end its all about love, take care of your friends and family!

/Much respect and love from the other side of the world.

Alaskind, your story should be an inspiration to us all. And also a warning in what lax security can and will do to anyone at any time. Its a great thing that this community has these kind of members who can come back after such a situation and post "this is what happened to me" without the usual negativity that follows someone after a bust. K+ to you and yours may your safety always be there and your family be taken care of. It sounds like you've got good support and are making strides for the good of all of us just by posting your well being and your fears. Peace and always shine on...

...just got out of prison this morning...Im still a little shellshocked...Im glad to see that this forum is still here....Ive made it through 13 months of prison, now Im starting my parole...thanx to the people that gave a little love when I needed it...

Keep on plugging away at life man.

In 2000 I went to prison for meth possession. In 2007 I was released 3 years early onto intensive supervised parole after going through the state's drug offender boot camp program.

When I was released I had nothing beyond a supportive family. Now, over a year ago I bought my first house, I'm engaged and we're pregnant (planned, lol, some of you know what I mean), got a couple pretty nice newer cars and a couple of older cars, couple heavily modded four wheelers, garage plump full of nice tools, legit job making $100k/yr, and a nice little grow in the spare room even though I don't shake the parole papers for another couple years. I never touch the hard stuff anymore (besides a rare hallucinogen), and I even quit smoking cigs (best thing evar!).

It's more than possible to get out of the clink and seriously succeed. Just stay determined and go after what you want.

Also, thanks for explaining how you got busted. I have a similar issue (toking tools upstairs, house would smell like burnt erb more often than not when someone's home), and we have a rule not to open the front door for anyone we don't know. It always feels a little weird contemplating going out through the garage, but better that then get caught up in some plain sight bs.

Best of luck to you.
