bicycle race through Spain had some unexpected casualties yesterday. aerial photos from helicopter as racers went through a town revealed 40 LARGE cannabis plants on the roof of one building. officials report the investigation is ongoing. apparently, 40 is over the number that Spanish LEO will tolerate...sounds like a nice even number to me!:tiphat:

Yes, this new was the bomb this week here in Spain.

It is extremely common to grow weed in terraces, specially in sunny cities like Barcelona, Valencia... Many people do that. If policemen wanted to prosecute the urban growers, we'd hear about busts continuously, but we don't. The problem is that it is difficult to convict somebody with just some plants growing. Policemen don't look for these people.

But these images were televised live, conductor was making jokes about the weed from the helicopter, and of course police had to do something. There were too many plants there.

On the other hand, there is no maximum number of plants. They can take you to trial for just one plant. Felony against public health or something like that, I don't know how to translate properly. They try to prove that you use it to sell it, because smoking and having weed is not illegal per se.

There have been convictions for just few plants, and some people with hundreds of plants have been absolved from the justice.

I myself have just a little amount of plants in my terrace, all of them properly hidden between a forest of tomato, ipomoea and anything that grows green and full of flowers. These guys risked too much, but probably they didn't have any problem last seasons.

Cheers!

I've found some pics. That's the best one, and it is just half of the grow.

You can find the grow in Google Maps. It's been there for years, just until the bastards of the helicopter filmed it.

Cheers
