No

Alot of my lower fan leaves are dying off, they have blackish splotches and then they start to yellow at the tips up. More pix. I need help. Im pretty sure these girls are burned. Maybe my dumb partner used nutrient rich soil or something. Do i flush if these are burned?

Im almost sure this is burn. I flushed with distilled water just in case. I think im gona go with 1 tbsp of budswell flower tea and 1tsp fish emulsion until week 5 of course. Should i flush with water again next time they need water or can i feed then?

Try to get your hands on an aquarium ph test kit or something to check your PH. ASAP. Check at the local pet store.

Knowing the PH of your water and the nute mixture is very important.

Once you know the Ph going in, you can test the run off and see what's going on.

When you say that you flushed..... How much distilled water did you run through each container?
The 2 gal. would need approx 6 gallons to flush it properly. At least that is what I have read, and it worked for me.
3x more ph'd water than there is medium in the container.

hey pirate, is that top pic your kali? she sure has gotten big.

I think you should stop giving your plants the Cal-Mag Plus 3ml per gal,it looks to me like you have a block out. and I also think they could use a little N,, good luck I hope you can turn them around, peace

Thanx incognitoman, Yeah thats the kali. I think your rite, i think i have lockout. I bought myself a much needed PH Test kit. When i water in a few days i will test my runoff. And for now on i will PH test whenever i water or feed.

If you haven't been adjusting the ph don't start and once you start you can't stop its kinda like deodorant or douche,, If your still watering with the same water you started with you are fine. I discovered a long time ago I was better off without trying to get the ph perfect. I must have been doing something wrong because before when I used tap water they were health and fine then ,,Long story short I did more harm than good, but thats just me you may have better luck and I have well water in the country. If those are the only plants you have going you can most likely catch enough rain water off the edge of your house. I could be wrong but I think there is something in rain water other than it being ph neutral plants love it.

Magnesium deficiency

Magnesium deficiency

Looks like magnesium deficiency...mix 1 teaspoon epsom salts from the drug store per gallon of water and use that once

FYI 3ml per gallon cal mag only adds 9 ppm Mg

Happy growing icmag!

The leaves start to with and brown at the tips. Then i can just barely touch them and they fall off.

No magneisum deficiency, you have a burn locking out nitrogen..... back off on the pbp some, use 5 ml per 1 gallon of water and use 1 tsp of fish emulsion and I would be feeding every 5 to 7 days.... not every 3...... Your plant is not able to absorb nitrogen well so flush the plants out with a lot of water......

Ok i watered with distilled 2 days ago just until i saw a little run off. So should i flush right now? My plants are in 2 gal and 1.5 gal. So double their volume of soil with water? So to flush a 1.5 i gotta put 3 gals thru it?

Since you watered them 2 days ago cut 1 gallon of water out of the equation......

use 3 gallons of water to flush out each one :)

Whats in your soil?

It looks like a lot of perlight which is a good thing because you can flush with out worrying that it won't dry back out and give you root rot.

How long does it take in this stage of growth before the soil needs water?

To each their own but if those were my plants I would simply flush as MynameStitch recommended but I would go ahead and do it drown the soil let the water drain then put some more water ( if your soil doesn't have good drainage you may f-up the plant and cause root rot) then in a few days or how ever long it takes for the soil to dry out I would mix 1/2 veg food ( all purpose p.f. Hight N) and 1/2 bloom..

And I would take some scissors and do some pruning of all the dead parts of the leaves (kinda like cleaning up a clone) the leaves that are dead are dead they won't be coming back to life, the ones with bad tips or ( I call them fingers ,, you know what I mean).

Pure Blend Pro Bloom Soil
1.5-4-5
1.0625 grams/ml
@10ml/Gal
N 42
P 49
K 116
Mg 14
Ca 28

Botanicare Cal Mag Plus
2-0-0
1.0208 grams/ml
@10ml/Gal
N 54
P 0
K 0
Mg 32
Ca 86
Fe 2.7

3ml/10ml x 54 n = 16n from the cal mag

42n from pbp + 16 = 58 n for both

Then you added 1 teaspoon fish emulsion...something like 5-1-1? Assuming 1 ml = 1 gram and a teaspoon =5ml...5/3.8 liters (a gallon) = 1.31 grams per liter x 5% purity of the fish emulsion x 1000 = 66 ppm nitrogen (n)

Grand total 58+66= 124ppm n

Sounds about right to me since the lucas formula has 130 and mel franc suggests about 100.

You got a magnesium problem... Green veins with a yellow leaf at the bottom. And yeah, magnesium def will give you some burned tips and edges as well.

As mentioned before, you only adding 9 ppm Mg with 3 ml cal mag plus. Very little.

Add 1 teaspoon (well really 2 teaspoons...2 pounds per 100 gallons) epsom salts per gallon of water once. Even if totally wrong it will not harm the plants. Do know that once mag def starts especially half way through a crop, its difficult to correct.

If you give me the fish emulsion #'s, I will redo the math.

Be sure when feeding with every watering to get alot of runoff out the drain holes. This will prevent excess salt build up.

Um where are your plant shots Buzz? Im sorry but im gona take stitch's advice over yours. Stitch has the pix and experience and expertise to back up her advice. Didnt you used to have the handle Blackvelvet? And you would go around giving bad advice to people in the infirmary?

You are so very right, his name was BV. SO I am not going to waste my time on his stupid remarks, I just hit the ignore button on his ass! Problem solved, since he is to thick to see he is not wanted here, so I do not feed trolls, I laugh at them.

Thanks pirate, by no means do you have a magnesium issue, it's lockout from burn and plants are having problems absorbing nitrogen.

lol very true pirate!, buzz has no growing experience, I got tons of pictures to show what my grows were like, and 95% of them they were perfectly grown with near no blemishes on them.

He was already banned once before and came back with more dirt information.
You know how to tell when he is full of shit? When he makes his postings on here!

yep, That guy sounded like he wanted you to pour salt on a wound. But I am not a plant doctor or anything like that, all I know is from experience from my plants. How are your plants looking now? peace
