I was screwin around in the shed and came across this bulb...

I'm fairly certain it's a halogen, but not sure as I've never seen one like it...

It's a GE bulb/120v/60w

The only other markings are Hungary, assuming that is where it was made, and D4.

I did a search of their site and didn't come up with anything....

Anybody ?

TIA

a MH with a filament? I don't think so.
This must be a halogen light, what base does it have? Also, what is engraved on the base?

Thanks for the quick replies guys....

It screws into a stanadard lightbulb socket and is NOT engraved anywhere on the socket base....

Hmmm

It LOOKS just like a halogen, just inside a bulb. I don't think thats a filament inside, it looks to be the electrical contact for the other end of the halogen.

It's bright as hell

EDIT:

It's also rather short (approx. 3.75 inches)

no, i mean inside that little glass tube in the middle, there is something that looks like a filament. It's a halogen bulb encapsulated by an incandescent bulb, it has the advantage that this sort of bulb has Open-Fixture rating, whereas a normal halogen bulb must be used in a closed fixture only.

So does that mean it's a bulb I can use to supplement my cab or no ....halogens get hotter than hell, so my guess would be no ?
