Building a new canvas for hydrohut-o-death poles

So, after I purchased a new tent, I thought about how I could probably use the poles from my defective hydro hut since the canvas was the problem, right?

All I would need is panda paper (is there anything better?) and zippers (what kind?)

If anybody has suggestions I'd be appreciative, I can't use it until I get a bigger place but I think I'd like to try and build it soon... sounds fun.

Hydro Hut will replace the original canvas for free, including shipping both ways. Email hydro huts and tell them you need a replacement. They received mine on Monday and I'm hoping to get it back early next week.

see if there is a local canvas shop in your area. give them the specs and they will sew it for you. i have thought of doing this some time ago but i havent had any trouble with my homebox yet so i havent acted yet. if you live by the coast, go to a marine canvas shop if not then i think you are on the right track with the zipper and the poly film.

Go to a Fabric shop and ask for blackout curtain cloth and a zipper. Show them what you have by way of an accurately measured drawing. I use that product for light proofing doors. Mine is white on one side and gray on the obverse. Have one of the ladies in your life sew it together. Many old timers still know how to run a sewing machine, your grandmother perchance?

This is of course dependent on whether you avail yourself of hydrohuts replacement offer or not which I and others seem to agree is the simplest solution to your predicament. Why complicate?

"People are reporting having the same problems even with the replacement they send you." + I bought it off a friend and have no receipt.

Great ideas, thanks guys.

I was thinking more about this; killabrown posted a tutorial in the DIY section, but he used wood for the frame and tacked it to the wood. Isn't there something I could use to bond it to the frame, or hang it over the frame somehow? I want to use panda paper or mylar, I guess I could get a black-out curtain sewn and then tape panda paper on the insides...use a tent for the floor....

That wouldn't be airtight and therefore it would smell though, right???

Doesn't matter, you don't need a receipt and you don't need to be the original owner. If you really don't want it though I'd take it off your hands. In that case I'd definitely use panda paper. Also buy or download Jorge Cervantes grow video, he builds a panda paper grow room from scratch in it.
