Build from the ground up..

Hi friends,

Due to all the restrictive insanity with the cannabis cultivation ordinances in my area I'm going to start outfitting my indoor space as a backup. Gotta pay the bills.

I'm wondering is there a thread or even a book that anyone would strongly recommend for a build from the ground up?

A little about myself and my circumstances: Beyond a clone machine I have zero experience with hydro/dwc/rdwc growing. I do have quite a few years of indoor soil growing, though.
I have a 1200 square foot permitted outbuilding that has a 100 amp service. Right now I have 12 600 watt lights ballasts with bulbs, some fans and, a ton of other random stuff. I'm thinking to go 30kw, mostly 600 watt lights, rdwc, vertical blubs with some overhead, somewhere between 70 and 80 medium sized plants, air chiller with handlers.

I would love it if I could just copy someones successful build and grow
style from the ground up. No shame. :) With all the challenges and things that could go wrong along the way I don't feel like it's cheating in any way, shape or, form.

Looking forward to your responses! Thanks!

If you want 30kw of lights you are going to need to upgrade that 100 amp service to a 400 amp service (atleast) and alot of growers it seems have been moving away from hydro and turning towards coco with drippers/blumats for more reliable results.

Definitely going to need to upgrade your power service. Every 1000w watt light pulls 5 amps at 240v. Plus fans, co2, dehums, AC, ect. I personally would go 1000w double ended. They are the future. Everyone i know on a large scale is upgrading to them. I just upgraded my rooms to sunlight ac/de air cooled hoods, nanolux de ballasts, and ushio super de blubs. I don't do hydro personally. I do either ocean forest/perlite mix, or coco/perlite mix in 10 smart pots on top of a coco mat in 4x4 trays (4 per light) with great results. Under 1000w de's once dialed in, you should have no problem getting 2.5 per light with the proper set up and food (I've used botanicare for years with great results and love it!).
I do 1 1000w de over a 4x4 footprint. I do sealed rooms with co2 burners and split AC systems. With air cooled lights you need about 3000-4000 btu per air cooled light. I use 1 18" air king fan for every 2 lights to circulate the air and box fans on the ground to blow air underneath the canopy. 1 titan controls 8 burner co2 burner for every 10x20' area hooked up to a titan controls atlas 1 co2 controller to keep your ppms around 1200. Depending on how many lights you have in a row will determine your fan size to cool your lights. I like can-fan max-fan. on a 10 light row a 12-14" max fan will work great. On 1200sqft i would get a couple commercial sized dehumidifiers to keep your humidity down around 40.
Everyone has their own way of doing things, and a lot of them work great. Just figured i share my experience and what has worked best for me over the years. If you want me to go into details any more let me know! Good luck with everything!
