Sup guys, I am running a 4 bucket KFB grow. Just found these dam bugs on my roots. I don't know what they are or how to to kill them. There is also lots of white shit on my lava rocks. Please help guys. I cant afford to lose this run. Thanks, BIU

They do look like aphids and that white stuff is salt buildup, I also see some algae growing there.

It must be easier for you to see them because you can see them move around.....

Recently a member here showed me a pic of a tiny insect which ran into the root-zone
of his seedlings and ate up the tiny tender roots.....it kind of looked like a mite, but
still we are trying to find out the exact species......

I am thinking a mild treatment of H2O2? What do you think BluntItUp? Have you
noticed a decrease in growth or are the roots turning slimy/different colours?

I am praying for you bro that all works out in your favour....

(love yer Vertitube btw....very nice setup)

h2o2 is my magic potion for all diseases lol... so far so good :D gotta catch problems early for more effectiveness, also spraying a bit here and there as pre-caution is excellent... btw i'm off to buy some more 3%, i'm all out.
peace!

Mybeans: There is no stickly substance on the roots.
GP: Mild h202 sounds like a great Idea. At what mix should I use h202? I will be using the h202 from the hydrostore. Thanks for the compliment :)

Thanks guys for your help.

most likely they are springtails but it is hard to tell, do they jump like a flea?

if they are springtails they wont bother the plant as they feed on rotting vegitative matter

i use 3% h2o2, and mix 1 part water and 1 part h2o2. sometimes i use it straight up if there are many bugs, but then spray with plain water after a few minutes.
good luck
peace.

they looka like this?

they looka like this?

those above are root aphids, spinosad based root drench works good at getting rid of em in one shot. Not sure if they can get resistant to it.
