Hope someone can help me, wondering what the issue is with the yellow lower leaves, also these bugs have drilled holes in the young leave as they emerge, just wanted to show them to anyone who has a similar problem, these are the adults by the way, young are too small to catch and photograph, can only kill the buggers by crushing them :muahaha:

What is the TDS/EC/PPM of your nutrients used? Dont know

What is the pH of the "RUN-OFF"? Last I checked it was around 6.0

What method of pH test was administered? Using Strips? pH pen? stupid spa strips, i used the liquid ph test kit where u add a drop to the water

stink bugs, assasin bugs, hemiptera

stink bugs, assasin bugs, hemiptera

Looks like Hemiptera or the 'true bug' family. Insect has proboscis that sucks out juices of plant and or consumes leaves. Can eventually cause toxins to build in plant. Most insecticides are effective.

The common form of these is a stink bug, its kind of angular and green.

some hemiptera are beneficial, like assasin bugs, eat other insects.

They kind of look like winged aphids. If you have an aphid infestation, you'll find clusters of them under the leaves. Often you'll see a steady stream of ants coming and going, as well. If you only have one plant, the easiest way to eliminate them is mechanically (squash 'em). If they're moving too fast to catch, they aren't aphids. Maybe you have two different pests. The small ones may be thrips?

I'm going to go with the "four-lined bug"- those are the adults...

The suck the sap from the leaf and leave a series of 1mm brown spots which turns into 1mm holes sooner or later... They move fast and are hard to kill remotely- you have to stay on top of them with bug spray.

Fortunately, they don't live the whole summer and should be dying out by now. I had a swarm of them eat my Blueberries making them look like hell but they are recovering nicely now...

I think you have more than one insect. Both the ones shown, and thrips, which are so small as larvae (the destructive instar) as to go unnoticed.

Hm... but.... I feel like I am participating in some Groundhog Day shit here....

Hi Ulysses your description seems closest to what these "four-lined bug" are, is that their name, I've been trying to find out exactly what they are. They do look like four-lined bugs but are not brightly coloured, they are green and hard to see & move quickly, see pic these are adults, nymphs are to easily crushed :jump:
