This leaf damage has had me chasing deficiencies all veg..
Ph is good.. checked constantly w a calibrated bluelab. Plants showing this across all mediums, soil coco and dwc. Feed 1.2-1.3ec w .2 tap.. Micros added via tm7 (not too much though as humic overload can cause weird growth).

Been seeing similar leaf twisting in the mites threads but not the damage...
so I spent almost three hours sitting among the girls scoping leaves. In that time i found one bug that resembled a cyclamen mite. Seemed a little big though.

I went ahead and ordered N. Californicus predatory mites and just applied them..
Still not convinced its mites though.
I found a few aphids early in season and a single brown marmorated stink bug... Ive read both of these can inject toxins/enzymes/viruses...

This root photo taken about a month ago.. At this point i can lift the rootballs out of the pots and to me they look and smell very healthy.. No bugs i can see. Also culled a male a few days ago and disected the roots.. All good. I use vam and hydroguard. DWC roots also lookin good.

Probably a collection of broad, cyclamen. and or russet mites. These also weaken the plant so drastically that the immune system is open to all other sorts of attacks. Fungal, or other pests. All the info you might need on BMs is in icmag

Ive been scoping daily for over two weeks, obsessively. Nothing. Even the predator mites have all passed on or moved away. Once i saw the predator mites, I knew that one mite I thought i saw was too darn big.
Im of the opinion it is a combination of things nutrient and ph related.
The leaf holes are a developmental disorder vs being consumed.. It happens when the leaf is just beginning and affects a small % of leaves.
I have a forbid and pylon stash just in case but wont be using it in this case; plants are rocking and current treatment is more runoff.

To me it looks like ph imbalances mostly. The twisting leaves, the light colored new growth, the tears or holes in leaves, are all things I've come across with ph imbalances. Some of it looks like a little burn as well. If it's happening across different mediums that's a bit of a head scratcher. Have you used the same nutes with all those mediums?

If it were me I'd get new calibration solution make certain it's not that. I'd also put a plant in a quality pre-mixed organic bag soil that needs only water and compare to rule out the nutes themselves being a factor.

I'd also scope the roots. When I was having problems that I couldn't figure out I did that and found aphids. Never saw anything with the naked eye but at 200x I found what's know as 'micros'. Took about an hour to find them but eventually saw 5 of them chomping on a single root. Fuckers were tiny, impossible to see without my scope. Another benefit of scoping the roots is you get a much better look at their health. If they have tiny fine hairs all over they are very healthy.

200x damn... I will work on that.
Yea I actually did have a bad EC calibration solution from bluelab and overfed one plant very badly. They sent me fresh stuff.
Ph cal good and doubled checked w drops..

I do have some gals in soil.. Good stuff..its all i been growing in outside for several years w no trouble. They showed symptoms but to a far lesser degree. However I got lazy and gave them maxi several times instead of fuckin with tea...

I thought i had ph nailed.. New bags of gh maxi nutes, new meter.. I probably got lazy with runoff and spaced on it.. user error
