hi all,

My Alegria is on its 40th day of 12/12, but about half of the pistils are browning and the buds arent getting bigger...is this normal? I think she has stopped showing growth for about a week

She is under a 400 watt HPS, fed in a 5 gallon DWC with Maxi-bloom at 4/5 part plus Koolbloom at 1/5 part. The nutrient solution is about 3 weeks old. the ph is at 5.9-6.1 and around 1150 ppm of nutrient. I top the container with water once a week and add nutrients to around 1150 ppm too. Room temperature around 18 degrees C. and water temperature around 16 degrees C.

Your plants look healthy so I'd say either the plants are just ready to stop or you've got a light leak. Don't know anything about the strain you're growing. What's the flower time on it? Count from when you first saw signs of budding.

Peace

This strain is Alegria, from Kiwi seeds.

It's supposed to be a 63 day strain.

She is on her day 40. I am counting from the day i started 12/12. Cause i dont know when she started budding after i turned the lights 12/12.

You don't got enough light to support all those plants..... those buds look like they did not get enough light... mainly those look like lower to mid part branches..... is what I am talking about, those 400's are up to high to penitrate the light to the bottom of the plants...... pistils have browned and those buds should be a little bigger which tells me there is not enough light down there.

That is why you should cut all those lower branches off the plant that the light won't get too; which produce popcorn sized buds anyways if you don't have side lighting.....
Since you don't got side lighting then you should have cut it off all the lower straggly branches and tossed them; that way the plant puts more energy to buds that get the light and it won't put energy into pop corn sized buds.......

That 3rd pic pretty much says it all, those 400's only got enough lumen's to go so far when the plant grows up. You got a hell of a lot of vegitation and that 400 there is no way it's going to penetrate through all that.... so pretty much lack of light is why those stopped growing.

Those pistils are not supossed to be that color for that sized buds even if you were using compact fluros.......

Other than that they look really good.

If a lack of light is the problem, Stitch is right. It looks to me though that your light is about 6" from the tops of your plants and I don't think you can get it much closer than that even air cooling the things. I couldn't when I was cooling my lamps. 9-11 inches was my limit. The buds just underneath the light look good. Some strains aren't heavy producers - maybe that's what you're running into. There's even one of my F-13's I'm growing right now that makes Paris Hilton look like she's morbidly obese.

I'd still suspect a light leak or think about what Core said.

Peace

Yup, like mojo and core has stated; that too could be a problem, strain has a lot to do with it too if it's not a heavy producer!

LOL mojo..... make paris hilton look morbidly obese,..... ROFL

This is what Kiwi Seeds say about this strain:

Alegria....... the taste of Spain Type: Indoor; Outdoor Genetics: Sativa 20% / Indica 80% Flowering: 65-75 días Height: 100-150cm Yield: 450-550gr por m2 High: strong up high 15 seeds

So i believe yield should be pretty good....I moved her closer to the light now. Hopefully she can start growing again....

I noticed also that some lower leaves have turned really soft and curled...is this sign of lack of light too??

The bud shots are the main top. this is why i am worried. The main top bud site looks just like the side branch buds and lower site buds are even smaller...

I have another pheno, right next to it that has the main top bud at a size of a Soda Can now...this pheno produces many many branches without topping. I figured it would do well in scrog for my next grow, but if the buds continue to be this small...forget it. I might just keep the other pheno and grow SOG.
