Last year I harvested a plant that I'd grown, but didn't cut off the little popcorn buds at the lower reaches of the plant. I put the plant into a closet, meaning to throw away the remains at some future stage, but I totally forgot that I'd put it there.
So now I discover it about a year later, and although the buds are withered and no longer green at all, they definately grew by quite a lot despite not getting any light at all. I assume the plant was able to use all its last food reserves to increase the buds in a last deperate attempt to be pollinated.
But my question is, is there any advantage to putting a plant into 3,4,5 days or more of total darkness before chopping it down? I'd imagine it would stress the plant no end, which towards the end of blooming I believe can actually be a good thing. Has anyone ever tried this?
