Bud Formation (1st Grow)

Question thats bothering me is, the buds, they started flowering about 10days ago, but they just look like bundles of hairs, no actual fat buds, am i doing something wrong??

One or two of the hairs around the plant have slight orange twinge already, i thought that meant that it was about half way through flowering but still no sign of buds lol

I read through your journal and strangely I'm also using those big CFLs, I'm now about 16 days into flower and this is my first grow, lots of similarities to your grow. About a week ago the flowers were just little hairy tussles but now they're started to grow out a bit at the back and fatten up.

One of my plants got sick which is weird because it was fed the same as the rest, but it got some kind of nute burn and the top of the main cola went slightly brown. Flushed it with 8 litres of ph balanced water 3 times, 2 days apart each time and it has started to clear up. What are you feeding it? And what kind of soil are you using?

a general tomato plant soil with some added compost and a lil bit of perlite i managed to scrounge off a friend.
As for the nutes im only using a 10-10-10 and im feeding it every other watering, half recommended strength.

Thats all ive given them, germed 3 one died a seedling one is huge and the other looks about a weeks growth behind, totally confused as to why the different rates of growth for same strain, nutes, enviroment etc but oh well

guess all i can do is watch and wait

I am running ten different strains right now all started at the same time. Some strains are taking forever and some are half finished. My purple haze are similar to yours. They look like little pom-poms. The flowering stage could be interpreted as having different stages as well. They first show pistils and begin to grow outwards then the "chemical development" begins. More growth in terms of thickness and density, and more trichome development. Some people like to shock ripen the buds to increase density due to the idea that they stall at week five. Give them time and they will come around. Remeber that the shortest auto still takes 50+ days to finish.

well zeltar you need to upgrade ferts myfriend you really are now wanting to use a bloom fert with little nitrogen as possible....right now im using floranova series ferts and im having good success....and yes ferts do make a difference other grows ive used local store ferts and this grow theres a huuuuge difference in every aspect of the plants growth....mucho better....and as for budformation you really dont get much untill id say 2nd-3rd week AFTER your calyxs start to pop up
