Bud Background Cheap Tricks: FYI

A Note....
Any decent bud shot against purple,pink,or black (ala jason king,lmao!!) velevteen,properly lit,will look "centerfold quality".
To me,it's a cheap shot,as the buds re-reflect the purple and pink backgrounds back thru the pistils,creating a very unrealistic (but pretty) picture.....That will undoubtedly sell assloads of seeds....whose buds won't color like that,without the backdrops.
FYI: Anybody can do this....it's just a simple photography trick....

so true... n the last thing people need is more misrepresentation of seeds. the colors do that, but managing the black background keeps the colors correct still, right? gonna miss your centerfold-lookin shots man, hopefully they'll be back in time

Well I guess they can do what they want as long as it's the REAL DIESEL. But I like you Rez feel it's best to let things hang in the breeze so to speak. I was gifted this from a respected member that told me it came by way of your mommy tree, and considering the source I have no dought, all I gotta say is Bless you Rez for creating such a damn addicting kickass strain that will be in my garden for as long as I got a bucket.

are these calyxs purple cause of the purple background?

Having colour gels or filters on a flash pointed at the pistlis will change their colour. also good lighting is rarely cheap, growing a clone with pink pistils is much cheaper.

Same Bud, different lighting conditions. I think it definately affects the fotograph. Its like if you were wearing red trousers and a white shirt. In the sun, the red trousers can make a tinge of pink on your shirt, which has no pink in it.

well i to have played around with my little camera and difrent back grounds but not to make my buds look better or worse you guys tell what you think i do belive it to be more the light than anything else





so here are som random shots with a few backgorunds and now the white one








i thought for the color the white background worked the best but thats my two cents thanks for let me share with you all

I don't have any problem with any bud shot with any background. I do have an issue with those shots that purposly mislead the viewer away from the true look of the subject, unless it is "artsy" (keeping in mind that photography is art) and *clear* that the photographer is being artsy.

The only lighting "trick" I have is using my flash.

but the real problem is the misrepresentation .... not so much the pinkish tinge to some pistils in a photo .... especially if thats not then mentioned in a description of the plant.... lol

this plant is only 2ft x 2ft but the shot makes it look like you'll get huge buds of it imo.... thats the most annoying advertising trick I know of in this bus.

Dezylu, nice pics. To my eyes, the plant looks the same in every photo. Pink/Purple lighting tricks are pretty much the norm in HT magazine, I've noticed. To me it's just annoying... I think it can only be considered "misleading" when the person viewing the photo is one of the many purple-crazed people out there. I appreciate the beauty of a nice plant with exotic colors, but I'd never buy genetics or spend my time growing a plant JUST because I got the impression from a photograph that my plants would end up purple.

ahhh thanks man but to the part about buying strains after looking at the picture!!!!
i must say i was new one time and wanted to get a plant like the one in the pic and bought it. to my surprise no purple and i bought it from g.n so i went back and did my home work and with some luck and searching i got what i wanted.it just sucks, thats all !!!i think there should be a disclaimer or somthing you know what i meen? lets face it ,there are new bees starting out every day and untill you got a problems you won't find the answer then you kick your self in the ass ,you know !!!well that enough ranting for me thanks again for the kind words
