Heyoo,

Just did a run of my home WPFF bubble hash extraction process and wanted to share some photos of flowers before and after the wash.

The strain is Aladdin Kush - you can see the flowers here: Aladdin Kush grow

Here are the micro-photos before freezing and washing

And here are micro-photos after the wash - as you can see there are only stalks left, all heads were extracted

Damn. How did you agitate the balls off without breaking the stalks? What will you do with the weed with broken heads? That's an amazing work friend!

Process was ice-o-lator or just bubble wash.
Flowers frozen in -25°C (-13°F), washed in 3°C (37°F) water with ice.
Ice is there only to keep the temperature low.
What breaks off trichome heads is combination of brittleness due to cold temperature and water vortex.
You can mix it manually, but I prefer chinese washing machine instead muscle pains 😅🤣
The vertical vortex does spin the flowers and creates pressure differences that breaks off trichome heads cleanly.
Also the cold temperature and water environment keeps everything from sticking together and with the equipement.
After every wash I drain trichome filled water through filter mesh bags:
190 micrometers as particle filter
160 micrometers to collect biggest heads
90 micrometers to collect the best heads (some people use 72 micrometers here)
45 micrometers to collect smaller, less mature heads, but still yummy

The rest goest to the drain. Some collect 25 micrometer heads, but I do not like them, not goot for rosin and makes process much harder - this bag drains super slowly, clogs and collects some green matter alongside hash. Too much effort for mediocre quality.

As for the flowers after extraction - as seen on the pictures there is not much of anything there. It's mostly just plant matter now, biomass. You could probably cook it in butter/oil and extract a little more, but I have other - non washed - flowers for that purpose so I just toss it into the garbage bin. You can of course compost it - I would love to, but I do not have place for a composter to smell and leak fluids - all my current backyard is sadly concrete :(
