What to do with 5lbs of bud trim from 2 greenhouses? Bubble Hash NorCal style!



Thanks to Obama "Cash for Clunkers" (appliance version), I got my new Hash machine. The "Doper" by Whirlpool!


Bought these 100% mesh, 5gal bubble bags off Craigslist. Since I don't 'mix' inside the bags, I don't need reinforced side walls. I'm just straining through them.


Fit a 5gal bucket into the lid of a trash can for easy draining.



I 'washed' everything twice, and got almost as much the second wash as the first.


Don't have a final weight yet, still drying, but should be several ounces!

This is my first time making hash! I just figured "Go Big, or don't go"!

I'd seen the video's of people paddling the sh#t out of a bucket of ice water & weed. Looked like a lot of work. I thought there has to be a better way.

Then I laid eyes on this beautiful 3.2cu ft Whirlpool model at Lowes, & it was love at first sight! I saw the potential immediately.

Having the trash can on the cart made it easy to get rid of the water. I used 120# of ice!

I'll post some final picture's as soon as it's dry. I plan to 'puck' it up!

I saved only the best, last 2 screens (50mic & 35mic), like velvet!

I through out twice that much, from the 100mic screen!

About as long as it takes to do a load of laundry!

I filled it with ice, water, weed, & used the longest (18min) wash cycle. Then drain.

I washed 2 loads, twice = 4 runs thru.

Took about 3-4 hrs. Mostly draining & cleaning bags! But it's happy work!

this really seems like THE way to go with large amounts of bud/trim

one concern though.... wouldn't a lot of trichomes get caught on all that stuff thats inside of a washer/hose and not make it to the bucket?

I ran a few gallons of plain water thru as a final rinse to clean out 'the Doper'. I don't think there's much left in the machine, I got it all!

This set-up really does the job. The hardest part was handling all the heavy bags of ice. But throw a few beers into the ice chest & it ain't so bad!

I take that back, the hardest part was trimming for days & days to get 5lbs of sticky trim! LOL! That was work!

i thought the same thing in college so i decided to use my home washing machine and just detach the drain tube and run it through screens. It would have worked if the bags of trim didnt burst open with all the ice. What a mess. I still got a few oz of hash out of it, but it wasnt worth the months of having to pick weed off of clothes for me and my roommates. For some reason the guys thought it a little funnier than the girls did..

now i'm back to the old PITA 5 gal egg beater method. I have a method for that the doesnt make it so terrible. Here's a hint, it involves smoking a lot of weed.
