SOIL:
How long has this problem been going on? 1 - 2 weeks
What STRAIN are you growing? Maui Wowi, Snowcap, Unidentified hybrids
What was the establishing technique? (seed or clone?) clone
What is the age of your plants? week 8
How long have they been in the soil mixture they are in now? 8 weeks
How Tall are the plants? Maui Wowi: 3.5 ft, Unidentified hybrids 2.5 ft, snowcap 1.5 ft
What PHASE (seedling, vegetative or flower) are the plants in? flowering
What Technique are you using? (SOG, SCROG etc) Individual pots
What size pots are you using? (Include how many subjects to pot) 1 pot per plant, 3 gallon pots
What substrate/medium are you using? What brand of soil mixture are you using?(percentage of perlite, vermiculite...etc?) Bio canna
What Nutrient's are you using? Foxfarm, all products except beastie bloomz and open sesame.
How much of each nutrient are you using with how much water? *Knowing the brand is very helpful* slightly less than full strength of suggested feeding, sometimes full
How often are you feeding? Once a week nutes, Once a week flush
If flowering, when did you switch over to using Bloom nutrients? When i changed light cycles
What order are you mixing your nutrients? (example: veg nutes 1st, bloom 2nd ect) Not sure
What is the TDS/EC/PPM of your nutrients used? Not sure
What is the pH of the "RUN-OFF"? Never tested runoff, filtered tap water is acidic, slightly under ph 6
What method of pH test was administered? Using Strips? pH pen? ph test kit, drops and a vial
How often are you watering? twice a week
When was your last feeding and how often are you feeding? Yesterday with nutes
What size bulb are you using? 600w HPS, 400 w MH conversion
What is the distance to the canopy? On avg 20 inches, 10 inches for maui wowi
What is your RH Factor? (Relative Humidity) Not sure, it gets extremely humid before i come back from work and open the door to my room
What is the canopy temperature? see below
What is the Day/Night Temp? (Include fluctuation range) During nights not below 60, during the day it can get up to 80 with closed door (these are approximate)
What is the current Air Flow? (cfm etc.) decent airflow, using a house fan
Tell us about your ventilation, intake exhaust and when its running and not running ? fan is set to turn on 15-30 minutes before light is on and set to turn off 15-30 after light is off
Is the fan blowing directly at plants? yes
Is the grow substrate constantly wet or moist? Top soil dries out, but 1/2 -3/4 inch deep stays moist
Is your water HARD or SOFT? soft
What water are you using? Reverse Osmosis (RO)? Tap? Bottled? Well water? Distilled? Mineral Water? filtered tap water
Are you using water from a water softener? no
Has plant been recently pruned, cloned or pinched? pruned plants to expose buds
Have any pest chemicals been used? If so what and when? used floramite, don't bug me, soya'nara during veg, used soyanara during flowering once
Are plant's infected with pest's? Currently a small thrip problem, had a spider mite infestation now eradicated
Primarily on my snowcap and a little bit on my other plants, the hairs of the bud seem to be turning orangish, but not uniformly, only in small patches. It is far too early for the hairs to be turning as orange as they are turning, and it is not uniform, so it is my concern that either spraying soyanara during flowering or some other problem is affecting my buds.
Also throughout my entire grow 2 -3 of my plants seem to have what I suspect is some sort of soil problem. The leaves are showing signs of nutrient burn (outer edges of leaves dying, some leaves becoming extremely v shaped). Also some leaves curl over and become extremely brittle while still retaining their green color. I have tried extensive flushing combined with weekly light nutrient feed with little results. Most growth on these plants is pretty healthy, I usually trim off leaves showing signs of deficiency to keep dead plant material out of my space, and so pests do not capitalize off ill plant matter. This problem isn't as much of a concern as the patches on my snowcap as the illness is not major and not affecting bud growth, but I am definitely interested if anyone has any suggestions.
I currently do not have a camera, but i will try to get pictures up as soon as possible.
If anyone has experience with these problems and can offer any advice or suggestions I would be very happy to receive any help.
