Brown spots, tips, droop - Day 16. Ideas?!?

I haven't grown pot in 20 years, and want to get back into it again. This is my first attempt after building a grow closet in my basement. The closet is about 30" deep X 50" wide by 85" high. It's on its own circuit, with GFI, auto thermostat for the bathroom fan in the ceiling, and initailly had a little heater in there that kept it at a constant 75 degrees.

Well folks, here's the chronology.

Started these bag seeds in peat pellets two weeks ago last Friday, got 4 out of 9 germinated, waited till tap root came out bottom of peat pellet, then planted them in larger peat pot with Ferry-Morse Organic Seed Started Mix to veg before going to larger containers. Put them under a 4' floro with new daylight bulbs. Would water based on weight of the container. I would put a 1/3 cup on top, then a 1/3 cup underneath for each. Plants never looked starved for water. Started with plain filtered water, then next time did 25% liquid miracle gro fert, then next time 50%, then 75%, then 100. Noticed browning about a week ago, dropped back to plain water for next two watering, then went back to 15% last night. Also got a 150HPS home-made set-up in there this past Sunday a.m. Plants seemed to look even worse with double the wattage! Constant temp has now dropped to 70-72, but I was able to remove the little heater.

They look somewhat better this a.m., but still a mixed bag. These pics aren't the greatest, guess I need a new camera to get these great close-ups some of you guys get! I hope to get another 150W HPS light ready for install this weekend, although I wonder if it will help at all?

Becuase I only have 4 plants, I've held onto this little runt (last pic). Probably should just pitch it?

Any suggestions greatly appreciated! Thanks.

do not feed your seedlings for at least 1 or 2 weeks...its all in the soil....when they outgrow the soils nutrientrange then you'll have to feed....classic overfertillisation.....imo...:2cents:

I agree. I'd also like to know the ph of your beat based soil but they ARE overnuted for sure.

I'd transplant it into some new soil....ph water only....and see how it does.

Okay, I'll pull back on ferts, no problem. That's pretty much what I thought, but I did not see any improvement when I went to straight water. The Ferry-Morse Organic Seed Starter mix I used has NO nutes in it at all.

I'm gonna pick up a ph meter this weekend, can't afford it right away.

I'm wondering if I should just start over (I have a bunch more seeds now), or water these without nutes for what, a week? two? and see what happens?

Thanks for the comments guys, I do appreciate it!

Me too...

Me too...

I have almost the exact same situation going on. About the same age. But I switched to 12/12 on day 7 because I'm growing in a short chamber and wanted small plants to ScrOG.

I used RapidRooters which is similar to peat. I transplanted to FoxFarm Ocean Forest with a dash of FoxFarm All Purpose Organic. Possibly already too much. I figured it was organic and so they'd be fine.

On day 7 after switching to 12/12 I gave them a dose of FoxFarm Big Blend... I think I also overwatered... Think I'm making the picture clear here?

My big question is: To start over? Or will they recover with plain water? Or should I switch back to 24/0?

Well Zora, I'm gonna start some new seeds, but am gonna just go back to water on these seedlings for a while, see what happens. I don't over-water, as I lift the pot to check weight. Easy to do right now.
