Brown Spots + necrosis

Here's the rundown:

Strain = NL#5
Nutes = FF
Soil = FF Ocean Forest
Light = 400w CMH + CFL's on 18/6
PH = 6.0ish (i have a meter but my water's always the same, half well/half RO)
EC = .6ish

NL-spots-2.jpg
NL-spots-3.jpg

So here's the story.
They're in about 1 gal. of soil and are fairly big for the container. They were rooted clones that needed re-vegging. On an 18/6 light schedule they never quite stopped wanting to flower. Lots of pre-flower action along with good veg growth.

The one pictured is suffering the most with the only difference being that i moved her to 12/12 a couple days ago. Since then it's progressed quite quickly on her while the others are just showing signs of onset.

Any ideas?? Gladly appreciated.

Fed appx. every 4 days - .6ish EC/400-500 PPM

Let's say i fed last Monday, the following day they would not get watered but on Wednesday they get plain water, then another dry day before another feeding on Friday. Sometimes there's an extra dry day in between waterings to give the soil a chance to dry out. Each watering is about 1-1.5 quarts per plant.

If it were nute burn i would have expected to see it start at the bottom of the plant and work its' way up instead of popping up all over the plant simultaneously. I would have also expected to see the edges and leaf tips burn, as it is, my affected growth is in the meat of the leaves.

Let me reiterate the size of the plants. Make a circle with your arms and add a little bit unless your 6'+ like i am and you get the appx. circumference of the topped ladies. They're about 16" tall. They're also in about as much soil as it would take to fill an average ball-cap. They're in 2gal. bags but they're only 2/3's full.

Still think it's too much nutes??

Looks like cal def. dont know much about dirt but it sounds like a cap full of dirt is too small for a 16" plant also 500 to 600 sounds low i would boost the cal.Also is the ppms veg or flower ? and i would buy a ph stick it would be nice to know the ph for sure. good luck

I think you're underfeeding, as stated. But imo, its a P deficiency...I'd transplant those girls into larger containers and raise EC to 0.9-1.0, feeding twice a week.

Edit - The purpling on those leaves is why I think it's a P def.

transplant into bigger pots and dont feed em for a week or so if your using new bag of ffof . pull all the damaged shit off and let them go .they will heal.. if your getting good thick stems and green,, just let em be.. or switch to coco if you like feeding so much

Thanx for the reply. I'm definitely leaning towards deficiency, just wasn't sure what she was missing.

The ppm's are vegging numbers. Always seemed to do the trick before. However, these have been able to veg longer due to their short, topped height. The one pictured was put into 12/12 a few days ago and the symptoms seemingly accelerated. The others are still in 18/6 and only show early signs of this condition.

I did mix in a little lime with the soil when planting. Isn't that a source of cal.?

I use a Hanna GroCheck meter, cleaned & calibrated regularly. I usually check the PH every few waterings to make sure it's between 6.02 and 6.8. It's never more than .2 off. I use half well water and half RO.

Thanx for the advice :joint:

I definitely tend to feed my girls a little light. I follow a pretty refined schedule, but i think i just pushed these girls a little far in the containers they were in.

You're the first to mention P def, which is what i was suspicious of. Last feeding they got a little epsom salt and some Tiger Bloom to try and offset the damage and/or keep it from progressing.

Transplanted all into new soil & 3 gal bags last night. Ran out of Ocean Forest, so one went into Happy Frog. Now i'll have a chance to compare those soils.

Thanx for the help :joint:

Done. They all went into 3gal. bags last night, even the ones who showed no symptoms. Fu@k it, they're all the same age, same strain, same size, etc.

I started pulling everything 50% or more gone, off the girls. The 'ol Jorge 50% rule.

It's funny you mention coco. I've got the coir, just waiting on the GH nutes. Gonna give Rez's ==The Recipe== a try.

Thanx for the wise words :joint:
