While harvesting recently I noticed that some of the colas I didn't cut during the first pass turned brown and died. There did not seem to be anymore tricomes and the leaves were very brown and brittle.
I had it happen on a Dr. Grinspoon that got out of control in my tent. I could never bring it to full maturity but near the end, the buds on the branches that I had super-cropped all started to turn brown and die. I guessed that it was the veins in the stalk constricting and shutting down where I had done the bend. The plant was killing the vulnerable colas to feed the rest of the plant.
When I had outdoor plants expire from heat or drought they would turn brown or gold. It reminded me of the old Columbian buds we used to buy in the 70s. The gold stuff will still give you a buzz if it's not too old.
Perhaps if you included some pictures and some more specifics about the grow environment it will help people diagnose it. So far you're not giving people a whole lot to work with.
If you cut too much from a plant sometimes she will die. Don't know the scientific explanation but when I used to reveg I lost most plants I didn't trim the root on same time as I trimmed the foliage. It will work if you only take a part of the foliage and buds, but if you take a lot, and don't trim the roots as well, plant usually dies or stays barely living for a long time. And it looks bad, ofc.
So this might be happening..
p.s. pics would help very much if you want to get opinions on it..
