Brown Area around new growth...

These little guys and another not shown have been thriving incredibly. I am growing them in an organc soil consisting of Miracle grow Organic soil. Bone meal, blood meal, epsom salt, Perlite, vermiculite, and Dolomite lime. They have not yet been fed because there hasn't been a need for it. I just noticed today that on the new growth, the area right where the stem and leaves join and the veins spread out is turning a brown color. It's apparent on almost all new growth. They are about 2.5 weeks old.

I included a pic but it's almost useless. My cam is only 1.3MP and I can't afford anything better at this time, but maybe it'll give you an idea of the location of the problem.

I'm thinking that it may some lack of a trace mineral since I really don't have any in the soil. Unless they are in the MG organic mix. It's not supposed to have any chemicals in it. But with MG, who knows.

Has anyone ever had this problem and if so how can I rectify this annoying situation that has railroaded my thriving plants?

The plants are indoors in the veg cabnet getting strong to go outdoors. The temp stays below 80 at all tmes and the light they are recieving is optimal. The growth rate is astounding and almost everyday they seem to put on incredible growth. The ph is Dolomite lime buffered at 7.0 They have been wotered with distilled water and well water. I do have a couple little black gnats hovering here and there and I'm trying to kill the fuckers with safer soap. It's working... but slowly. It doesn't seem to be hurting the plants, atleast I dont think so.

Thanks for your help ICr's!

Yup, trace minerals, considering you have not fed anything yet; the most prominent answer would be micronutrients and since it's on newer growth it's got to be a trace mineral.

Newer growths that are affected 9 times out of 10 has to do with lockout or not enough micronutrients.

I can't tell by the pics, because it does not show the problem up close. What lighting are you using for your plants btw? How close is it?

If the light is not causing a burn issue then it's micronutrient issue.

If you can get some earthjuice microblast and feed it to your plants... you already got lime in the soil.... which means you got enough mag and calcium so it has to be others and microblast has the rest you need, the only thing is lacks is calcium and one other element i think....

Remember with the safer soap to spray the topsoil good. That is where the larva are and they are the ones that damage the roots. The adults don't damage the plants, just their larva.
You need them in bigger containers. Just mist (foliar feed )them with a 1/8 dose or so of something with micros in it.
It's fine to avoid ferts in soil. The less ferts you use the less the plants need them. The way a plant feeds in soil vs hydro is completely different because hydro plants feed on liquids. Soil plants that aren't fed ferts, are conditioned to feed on moist solids.
The more ferts you use early on in the soil, the more you need later. You could just avoid feeding ferts to the soil and just foliar feed every couple of weeks and you'd be good to go. ;) Just an option to think about.

Thanks Kr@ken it turned out not to be that big of a deal. I stuck to my regimen and they came out just fine. Damn, that was along time ago. Wish I had some of that left right now! I've always been a fan of foliar feeding. That's the quickest way to solve some problems. But I harvested those babies a year and a half ago. and they were nice..

Here was one a month before harvest.

ANd theses are the tops to the one in the pic.

I took those 3 tops a bit prematurly but she got over 7 feet tall and was showing N def early. I stopped with the grow formula too soon. SHe was in the back yard waving at every plane that flew over and it kinda freaked me out... so I cut the tops off.... those 3 tops were so incredibly pungent, that my girl would not let me dry them in the house. within 5 minutes of bringing them in... the whole house stunk! Which I love it... but she said it made he nausetious....
