brow spots on my new babies...help cure pls

i have a coupla girls (strawberry bubs) going in a rubber made (thanks RED) 18/6 lighting, floros.
growing in pro mix with one 1/2 strength watering of neptunes on the thrid watering (tap water on the first two waterings).
plants are aprx 8 inches tall the runt is maybe 5 inches tall.
i am getting some brown spotting primarilly on one plant but im doing the same to all so it may become a problem with all. they are only like two and a half weeks old so im worried.
i think it may be the ph of the tap water...i havent checked what it is---stupid me.
i transplanted them today into reds soil mix (pro mix, perlite, ver, blood, bone, lime) and plan on not fertalizing till they show deficiancies.
i went to the store and bought a gal on bottled water and watered them with that after transplant.

looks like the same problem I just had. check the thread i started, like 2 posts down. It's probably the pH of the water you're using. also looks like they could be transplanted

Sorta makes me think phosphorus deficiency with the purple petioles and stems. Are the undersides of the leaves gettting a purple tint?

Your new soil mix lacks potassium, sulfur, and micros. I suggest adding something like maxicrop seaweed to your water.

You should adjust the ph of the fert water before applying to 5.8 to 6.0 since your soilless.

You should apply fert water weakly with every watering rather than sporatically. This also prevents adding not ph adjusted water.

20% of your fert water should pour out the bottom of the container...you want runoff. This will prevent salt buildup.

Good luck!

no doubt i have some neptunes which is seaweed and fish emultions and is very mild. ill add that on every watering, half strength. b4 watering ill check the ph.
thanks for the help

I don't think fish emulsions is really what you should be adding for a while since the new soil has bone and blood meal. Beware of adding too much nitrogen. Your mainly short of potassium, sulfur, and the micros. I suggested maxicrop seaweed but other seaweed/kelp products should work equally well. Molasses also is high in potassium and sulfur but doesnt add many micros. You might look into adding small amounts.
