Broken timer

It's a mechanical timer. The scoreboard isn't moving anymore, i'll post a pic so you can see what i mean. The arrow shows which way the scoreboard should move

Anyone knows what might be the problem? And can i fix this?

It works when my HPS(400w) and fans aren't plugged in.

So it works when it is plugged in to the wall but without the "appliances" plugged in? I'd get a new one too ... the last thing you need is a fire because you tried to fix a cheap timer ...

OK, is electronic timer better than mechanical(if yes, why) ?
Or it just costs more?
