Broken Main Stem

I have a Sativa that stretched to much so I tied it down. Last night I transplanted this lady to a bigger pot and as I went to tie her back down the main stem partially broke, or I guess splintered would be a better word. I taped it back together and staked the plant to take pressure off of the stem.

Is there anything else I can do? Will she pull through?

I guess I left the Low part out of LST!! There is a first time for everything.

It'll be fine...I've done the same thing tying down plants and just used duct tape to hold the wound closed. It'll probably take about a week for it to heal completely.

Does the tape just stay there, or should it be removed in a few weeks. I am guess it stays there!

when you lst you dont need tio keep the strings on it the whole time, leave the plant in the position for 2 weeks and then you can remove the strings
when you tie down your plants you dont do it at one move you do it slightly and wait a few days and then tie them down lower if you like, this helps ease breakage of the plant

and if you remove them after 2 weeks you have a plant that will stay like the position you tied it in

as for this i would have to see a picture to say exactly but did it split down the middle?

I break my plants on purpose when they get to tall... but thats me!!!

Splits can be bad sometimes and i would also have to see a pic... but the tape should not stay on longer then 1 week, then take it off...

hi all

I dont have much room,SO i have to do a lot of LST to get the plants low(btw i find the best time to bend/train the stems is just before they are due a watering(more flexiable then))

Mm this year i tried a few outdoor's...Mainly to get a chance to see them grow without being tied down
And WEll they got to big(Had two)
One i had to tie over(Simple one string)
The other i snapped(in two places)In a attempt to slow it down a bit(i did not mind if it died(could not leave it grow bigger tho))

This was about 2 weeks ago,And both snaps have healed up

For one snap(nearer the tip)I used a bit of a straw(drinking straw))
Used about a inch,Made a slit and put it around the stem(Seen this used by others))

The other snap was further down the stem(thicker)So i made a basic splint out of some plastic
Worked out welll(tho dont think i slowed it down much)*grins*

And in answer to your question(Got there in the end)
yes Take off the support after a few weeks(Or once u know it has healed)

I usually keep a few old stems handy for splints, and it is a good idea to support a break in the main stem, don't worry about the tape on or off both work fine. I break my girls too, not in a nice way either, if they grow where I don't want them I bend/snap them and they grow where I want em to.
