Broken Cola stem, please help!!!

OK, so I did a dumbass mistake and tried to LST my plant when it was nice and watered and one of the top nodes snapped (I heard it was better to LST during the time the plant is dry as it is less suseptable to snapping).

My plant is a Hog's Breath, 30 days into flowering. The plant is about 2 1/2 feet tall and is topped. The top nodes plit into a Y formation. As I streched one of the "arm's" of the Y, it split down the middle, main stem,

What I did was wrap it together (the nodes) so the split part had no gap in it, then I was going to just feed it and leave it alone for at least a week so it healed back together.

But what do I know...?
Any advice would be appreciated. :bandit:

Here is my plant, pre-accident:

Have had plants/branches break. A splint and some tape generally fixes it, although you are describing a split down the middle of the main stem, a bit different. I still think it will work. Good Luck.

wire tie it together using plastic for a splint if needed. Then use some waterproof electrical tape (holds in moisture locks out bad things). Now this is to late for you now probably. Something to put in your first aid kit. If you are not snapping branches you are doing something wrong. Nice choice in your strain. Suerte JK

The first thing I did is tied it back with a long twist tie. It didn't need a splint, seems to be holding good. Thank you for the input.
And electrical tape is always a must... ;D
I'm a newb to this but not to life.
You cannever have to much tape, haha.

The best thing that i have found for a splint is to use toilet paper or facial tissue. Get them wet and put around the damaged stem. This will dry and create a cast of sorts, the plant will be able to breath and when the stem grows strong the plant will be able to just be able to fall off or you can knock it off. I find it easier to use that since it will be see from a distance and you wont forget that its there. If you need some with a little more support, just put in some sort of splint and then wrap that with the butt wipes or snot rags....

Hope that helps ya some.

best thing for a splint:

1/2" or 1/4" irrigation tubing, cut a piece of drip line or airline tubing to the length of stem between the two nodes where the break occurred. Take a razor or scissors and cut a slit along one side of the irrigation tubing. hold the tubing open and snap it onto your plant with the slit side opposite the side that the cola is falling over. if the stem is larger in diameter than the tubing you are using you can use plant ties or tape to hold it on there

Thank you whatsthatsmell and Sauron The Blue, I fixed her with a combination of twist ties and wet toilet paper. The stem didn't snap of all the way, just split. The buds on that particular node look healthy still so I think it will be OK. Thanks a bunch!

Using duct tape works well also. I had one of my mothers snap twice on the main stem and this seemed to work well. 2 months later the duct tape split from the now healthy stem.

Same thing happened to me on my last grow when bending the main cola over while in flower, didn't use a splint or tape, just tied (using string) the cola in the position i wanted it to stay (tied it to side of grow room), 2-3 weeks later a hard knuckle appeared where the fold happened, it sort of worked out great as the the structure of the plant opened up due to this helping the light to penetrate down the plant easier, didn't have any adverse effects either, had no sign of stress at all, Hazeseeker
