Either one would be fine.

Take some twine and tie it to the main stem. It will heal quicker this way.

I put some molasses on it and tied it up!
I read that somewhere, can't hurt. Right?

I use cloning gel in the wound every time i snap em... now i personally do not grow autos but keep in mind its not a plant in veg it just wants to grow n finish so snapping the stem may have some effects in yield n finish time... also keep an eye out for balls/nannas i wouldn't really worry but keep that in mind
