Breakers on, No power

Came home to my grow house this morning and all my lights and fans were off except one. Now my setup isnt the greatest as far as electical goes, Ive kinda been going makeshift untill I could buy one of those timer boxes from the hydrostore, and every once in a while I would throw breaker right. Well I went out to the breaker box this morning and they were all still on, but all my outlets in my grow rooms test negative for power. Did I actually blow the breaker and have to replace it now or what. Can someone please steer me in the right direction, Ive got a book on advanced home wiring and am willing to do some work myself but Im not the greatest about electricity yet and dont want to go beyond my skill level.

PS, only my two grow rooms and some lights in the hall way were affected, everything else works fine.

check the top breaker at the poles in the box you were just at.. are those still on? check the main breaker on the outside of your house.. did the power man throw your main house breaker outside? did some asshole? is there NO power in the whole house?

you could have melted a pole too if you had a power outage and surge or something

EDIT-

oh.. you just poseted your second post.. well i dunno.. isolate the problem to the point where it does have power.. do your brekaers have power? the breakers that supply the grow rooms? not just are they on but do they have power? if they do, start tracing the wire to the next object (outlet??)

yea main breaker is on, power is fine in the rest of the house. we were having some hard rains last night after I left the spot and I was worried about a power outage or flipping a breaker but they are all in the on position.

did you check to see if you had power leaving the breaker that controls that circuit?
the breaker might of fried, check that first.....

Flip the breaker that controls those outlets fully off then back on again. It may have just been a partial trip that you may not see just by looking.

I think the breaker might be fried frank. I did try fliping it off and then back on again with no success. The house is pretty old and I dont really want to mess around with the main box too much or Id check the power leaving the breaker. Im going to see if I cant find a friend locally with more experience than I. thanks so far everyone.

Yeah, if you're not comfortable around electrical systems, best to seek outside help.

If you lack a voltage tester remove a 20amp breaker that IS working and swap it out with the questionable breaker(s). If it works then you will know the breaker in question is fried.

Kick the MAIN off before doing anything in the panel box.

You need to check the wire coming INTO the main breaker next,if it is dead check between the meter and main panel for the disconnect.Check for blown fuse /fuses.Is all your power out or just part?It could be you blew a fuse in the disconnect cutting power to one leg of your service, blowing both fuses would be unlikely. It could be a breaker enclosure instead of a fused disconnect also in which case both legs go if the breaker trips. If you've lost power to the entire house a tripped breaker in the breaker enclosure between the meter and panel is the likely culprit.
