Brand New Light Burned Out - Too Cold?

Woke up this morning to find my brand new hortilux bulb has burned out! After running for 3 days total. The ballast was still humming away so I assume it must be the bulb.

It's in an air cooled hood and the air being drawn through it was less than 20 degrees last night, could this have caused a problem? Christ I hope I have a good backup bulb somewhere!

Thanks Ed. Yeah I tried restarting it after a while to no avail. The hydro store I bought it from does have a year warranty, but I bought it on vacation about 4 hours away. Man this sucks, just dropped a ton of $ to get this grow up and going again and now this.

20 degrees didnt hurt yer bulb bad bulb most likely
If 20 degrees blew hps bulbs the streets would be awful dark in winter

Oh yeah just cause yer ballast is humming doesnt mean it isnt the problem .you need a spare bulb anyway and if new bulb doesnt work you know yer ballast needs parts and you have 2 good bulbs .
Just buy a GE ,Phillips bulb there cheap and work great there all I use anymore expensive bulbs are over rated compared to replacing them regularly

Haha good point!

Thanks for the advice guys. I tried a couple other bulbs I have and it looks like they don't work either! Must be the ballast then, lovely. I have a spare ballast luckily, I just need to throw in a new capacitor that I have sitting around.
