I like Weeds but I do agree that the story line has turned pretty dark lately. Hopefully they can turn it back around soon.

I too think this show has gotten worse as the seasons have progressed. It started out o.k., but at this point it's like a ridiculous joke.
It's ignorant portrayal of American pot culture is the least of it's problems.
The show needs some new writers the storyline has gone down the tubes. Guess it's not my kind of humor.
I wouldn't go so far as to boycott the show LOL, but I certainly wouldn't recommend it to a friend.

I have decided to give it one more chance, in hopes that they flip the script on it and make it back into a positive movement for cannabis.. I just think that to the "average everyday non cannabis smoker" watching this show; it puts a bad flavor in their mouth. Then at voting time, they remember the scenario from weeds, and vote against legalization.. Thats what i fear.. Not You (ICG'ers) and Me. I know we are getting baked 30 minutes before the show comes on, and waiting for what kinda crazy shit is gonna happen on the show this time, and dont take much away from it. But the show has turned into a crime thriller now, and is sure to leave bad memories in peoples heads who are already on the fence with the legalization issue. I'll be watching this sundays episode in hope of some kind of rebound.. but if it dont look up, i'm not watching it anymore... be well all, peace..

"man, if marijuana was legalized then nobody would be robbing others for marijuana because we'd all be able to grow it ourselves, that way the situation in weeds with U-turn would never happen and, because im an idiot and i have problems distinguishing between reality and fiction, I could go back to living my sheltered life of ignorance."

And, I think you are confusing the show, that is designed for entertainment purposes only, with some sort of pro-legalization wannabe documentary/propaganda show. That is not what this show is designed to be. maybe norml can produce the pro-legalization show that you seem so desperate to turn Weeds into, instead of recognizing it as a simple soap opera with a gimmick (cannabis growing mom). And maybe you should just stop watching the show, it seems to be causing you many problems and stress. Perhaps you should stick to watching Dora the Explorer or something simple and light like that.

i thought the show sucked when it first came out. then i got sucked in like the rest of you. it's not a bad show. it does have the same problems all 'niche' shows, or shows about something real people care about, seem to have. that problem being that you can't get everything right 100% according to everybody. what happens when a military run and gun comes out? all the military people roll their eyes at all the misinformation. what happens when a car movie comes out? i bet if they did a movie on fishing, they'd somehow **** it up. what did you expect from a show about weed? more to the point, what did you expect to hear about smoking/growing/dealing that you didn't already know? most weed smokers (notice i don't mention growers) don't know all there is to know about weed. they get it wrong all the time. and a good grower is the only type willing to cop to not knowing all thre is to know. that's true knowledge right there, aint nobody gonna get it off the tv.
the truth is almost always more interesting than the fiction. but to know the truth, you have to actually participate in whatever it is that's in question. watching a movie or a tv show doesn't cut shit when it comes to knowing or learning about how something is in the real world.
what worries me are the however many people who watch these TV shows and movies and think they know something about weed the rest of us don't. they run their mouths all the time. i know we all know how hard it is to keep from "educating" someone who obviously hasn't schooled themselves. i try to keep my mouth shut when the fools are running theirs with all their TV and movie talk. no need to talk when you can walk, you know? hehe. tell them their plants will do better with 8 hours of light in flower, spraying with soapy water is an old hippy trick for better veg, mercury vapor lights have twice the lumens, you don't need a ballast to run a light under 600W, shit like that. lol.

your an idiot. the shear fact that there is an entire show that revolves around weed, and its general message is weed< alcohol as far as danger is concerned is an excellent step in separating it from other substances. therefore pushing it closer to legalization. you will NEVER see a show try and spin heroin or crack in a good way the way this show portrays weed. you argue about semantics. the writers said they wanted the monetary amount to be squabbled over to be 300k the set designers didnt get a big enough safe... big ****ing woop. the show has pothead lawyers accountants city councilmen etc and you bitch about some stupid shit because its not a biography of your sad lonely life. get real

I gave weeds the customary three episode chance [1st season] and found it didnt really smack of the reality of the weed scene. Maybe someone elses weed scene but none that Im familiar with. So I dont watch it. I found other shows that dont focus on weed but make it more the part time thing like Entourage.

Well, i just watched the latest episode. I can say "i am through" the show is completely off base. It has gotten way off track (in my mind).. Now the pot dealer/grower (nancy) has to pay a thug rip off artist, by sellin' mexican heroin..?.. Hahahahaha, Yeah that is hollywood not anything i'm interested in.. I have been around Cannabis for over 30 years, and never have i once seen heroin, but like Verite referenced to, maybe just not my weed scene either..

first of all, if people with guns know you are growing, then you deserve to be robbed, second there is no one weed "scene" selling weed is a business and its a very lucrative illegal business, so yes there are alot of real life thugs out there that have no problem killing people over it, thats why i grow, because i don't like dealers.
