Botrytis

Hi I have some strains beginning to flower and I suspect they will be subject to botrytis. The humidity level in my 10x8 room is 65%- I got a/c, an 8"
Can fan and two 1000 hps. I'm looking to lower it a bit with some damprid some sand and an extra circ fan. The strains are critical 2.0 (which is supposed to be somewhat resistant) and t. Purple kush. So the buds will be sizable i know. I'm concerned about mold getting into the center of those large buds. Anyone out there have experience vs the mold? How about a systemic?

Get your humidity down to 50-55% or so and put a fan or two in the room to move the air.
Chemical systemic? Yuck.
If you need to spray something use Actinovate or Prestop now to inoculate the plants before they develop any further and before you see any signs of botrytis.

Cool well I have some actinovate. The buds are in week 3. I thought of spraying with the actinovate but I was afraid it might damage them or ripen them. I just got another oscillating fan so I'll use one for the bottom and one for the top. And I got some damprid. Maybe that will get me 55

My humidity is usually around 70% inside the grow box during flower, and so far no mold in the 3 runs I've done with it.

Temperature factors big time on this, bud rot, although it can happen in warm temperatures, it thrives in colder temperatures. So if your humidity is high, do keep your temperatures at 25°C to 26°C (77°F to 79°F).

Then again, if you have 2 1000 watts HPS, you could get a dehumidifier and forget about the problem.

Good luck

Yes I looked at a dehumidifier and I found some new ones that do 70 pints per 24 hrs. Not too pricey at 200 dollars but they use like 500 or 600+ watts. It's a bit much for my set up cause I got those 1000's. I can keep my temps 87 no problem. Maybe that's too high, maybe I should get a 10"

Well tonite I bought a toshiba 70 pint dehumidifer from the Home Depot for 180 bucks. It's 600 or 700 watts so I'm switching my other 1000 for s 400. My room is tight on watts. But works for me if it will stop the mold

Mycostop or Prestop as a bio-fungicide; will block such critters from adhering to leaf tissues or, if used in drench, block them from clinging to roots.

As others said, lower humidity, and move air, air, air... -before- the moving air is carrying too many spores, spores, & spores. ;^>)

Used to sweat the power draw on a dehumidifier, too, but later tuned my HRV better, and kept the core cleaner, thus seriously reducing the need for the dehumidifier. Now it's a hat & coat rack.
