botanicare 5kg bails. they are 11.95 and fluff up tp 70 liters. Canna costs 24.95 for a 50 l bag. Both are ready to rock wihtout flushing so it comes down to cost and convenience. A bag of canna coco is bulky. A brick of botanicare can fit in a shopping bag. Hope that helps. Opinions may vary
Well is quality is equal then botanicare seems like a much better deal. i went to the hydro shop today and the guy showed me how to set up a drip system. it was alot eaiser then i tought. the drip system was the only thing holding me back from doin coco so i think i will give it a try. also the guy at the store says you need about a gallon per foot. is this what you think is nessasary to?
420cali..From what I have read..There are other differences between Canna and Botanicare coco..Canna's is treated and Ph buffered..Bontanicare's is aged 18 months to finish decomposition..washed from rain water, to remove salts and K. Botanicare offers long coco fibers, less dust, lasts longer..Can be used with most nutes..
I went the Botanicare route..Plan on starting a coco grow soon, my first..I'm going to do a Ph and ppm test on the coco..See what I get...I read that the Canna can put out 100ppm with spot on Ph.. I'm hoping to get lower ppms from the Botanicare..
Good luck with the drippers!! ..mitsu
I recommend you rinse the Bonticare regardless of what the package or company says. If you check the ec...you will see that it gets under 100 with a couple of HOT water flushes.
on the second grow with the Botanicare and i love it! works great with my PBP & LK feeding. i second Father Jack though, flushing is definitely needed!
I put some moist coco in a cup of water..let it sit for 2hrs..strained the coco..read 73 ppm..used the same coco with fresh water..let it sit 2hrs..read 30ppms..So with a nice warm soak/flush..this coco should be ready to go..I was concerned with having too much salt and K..Now thats not a concern I can mix my nutes..I'm gonna use some stuff I had around..Technaflora line..Played with the nute calculator came up with N 105, P 81, K252, Mag 85 and Cal 150..K is a little high, I'll have to wait and see if it effects the Mag. Oh well here goes nothin'..It's me and you Cocogro!!..mitsu
