Botanicare CNS RIPE 1-5-4

I only bought a qt; im going to start testing this product. I (re)use BioBizz coco mix. (in containers) on a recirculating flood table.

I have been using Botanicare Pure Blend Pro Bloom (Soil Formulation) for close to two years. (7-10ml/Gal) (I'll use the same amount with Ripe)
PBPBloom Soil is 1.5.-4-5, and i use it though veg and flower. (Small plants need less, and if I want them to green up in veg, i foliar calmag 2-0-0.)

So...
__1-5-4 Ripe is close to my
1.5-4-5 PBPBSoil.
With my current regime, the girls yellow up late, late flower, which is perfect for my taste (and theirs too:nanana:). Using Ripe throughout would have 1/3 less N, if i were to try it i would probably have to supplement with calmag.

My initial endeavor was to try another companies nutes, but i guess i couldn't drop botanicare.:joint: Im not dissatisfied, but the grass is always greener, and ive got botanicare locked down (I like to experiment anyway).

Any anecdotes about CNS Ripe, or someone switching from botanicare please post HERE

I am like my CNS 17 so far... I have a little bit of Calcium def. in my mother plants in veg.
I have been applying about 20ml/gal and it seems to work well...
I am not sure about the Rippe, when I went to the store, I just picked up a bottle of Coco soil Veg and Bloom, but not ripe...

Last run I used Grow Flower and Ripe for soil/coco mix. The nuts were cheap, $25/each per gallon. Decent results, Floranova seems to be a bit better for the soil IMO.

From my understanding, the CNS17 has plenty of Cal-mag in it, you shouldn't be showing deficiencies.

BUMP. I think i like this Ripe.

Its pretty obvious to me that you still need N supplementation. I like running minimal amounts of N the last half of flowering; i think that what causes harsh taste.

As i said before, to boost the N you could use 1/2 ripe dose and 1/2 your reg fert schedule, or use Cal-Mag (read:2-0-0. N-P-K)

I would love to see someone who normally flushes to use Ripe instead. Personally, i am against any flushing (read: starvation) unless its too green (N) or the ec has been raising for a week.

The label says 0.1% for both calcium and magnesium, and I was told 1.44% calcium and 0.74% magnesium via the phone.

I emailed back about it and got this response:

Some of the claims listed on our labels are the minimum guaranteed analysis. It is easy to reverse manufacture products and because so many new hydroponic fertilizer companies have started up over the past two years or so we keep many of our trace mineral amounts private proprietary information. The amounts I gave to you over the phone come straight from test results ran by Midwest Laboratories on February 4 of 2009.

If true, 25 ml/gal gives:

n 66
p 145
k 220
mg 49
s 7
ca 95

That is surprising about your calcium deficiency.
CNS17 grow/bloom has more calcium than most all other nutrient lines.
Maybe it was a ph problem?

It surprised me also about 25 days to go noticed the deficiency. Started with cal mag and looks like it took care of the problem. Ph is around 6.0 all the time, if I see a problem I have and will swing the Ph a half a point. Tell me what you now about pre-treating coco with cal mag?

So it was a PH problem lol... I have been feeding with tap water due to my lack of money and the PH runs around 7...

I ran the bottle of Ripe though the cannastat page.

CNS Ripe @ 10ml/Gal = N26 P56 K85 as stated earlier, the Ca and Mg are minimally listed, and are a defacto 'trade secret'.
now with my
PBPBloom Soil @ 10ml/Gal = N42 P49 K116 Mg14 Ca43

10ml/Gal of both = N68 P105 K201 <=== This is what ive been using for 3-4weeks, and my ladies have never looked better

Personally i foliar feed calmag on plants that begin yellowing too early.
If youre using Ripe, you probably are trying to lower the N level, however, If you want to bump the N closer to 100 add
CalMagPlus @ 5ml/Gal = N27 P0 K0 Mg16 Ca28

Giving you a very lucas like ratio of
10+10+5ml/Gal = N95 P105 K201 Mg30* Ca 71* *not fully listed

Ripe is only for the second half of flowering anyway. I just switched to CNS 17 for hydro. I'm just running the bloom right now. but I already have the Ripe. I'm glad it's pleasing you. I know I'm liking the bloom so far.

I should add, I run recirculating drippers, perpetually, staggered roughly 3 weeks apart.
My reservoir never has a 'late flower'

interesting. sounds like a pretty solid way to run an automated perpetual system without having multiple reservoirs.

Bump. Anyone other Ripe users.

Note to a MOD, this thread may be better suited for the new 'nutrients' subforum

My normal nutrients were gh micro/ floro at the 6/9 formula. i run this till day 28. I then drop the micro down to 2ml's and boost the flouro up to 10 mls and add 2mls of liquid koolbloom. I would use this through week 8 and flush the last week.

A month ago I was given some samples of cns 17 ripe by the hydro guy. So i decided to use it from day 35- 56. I must say I was pretty impressed with the results that I went out and bought a gallon of it.

So now I use 6/9 through day 21. Then add 5ml's of kool bloom to the 6/9 formula through day 35. Then switch to the ripe till finish at about 15ml/gal.
