I went to the new members area, and then sorted by join date. Just today it looked like hundred or so , maybe more, people have joined, all with strangely similar usernames. Usually they are two names joined with no spaces, but with two capitalized letters. ie. SamJohnny, or LeannaStrouse.

check it out..looks like they are being made by a bot somehow

Looks indeed highly suspicious. The moderators better keep an eye on that situation.
I think the person behind this could possibly be planning a major spam attack with multiple accounts.

Now im seeing random names with numbers following them, tons of new ones today like 'samantha40' or 'weed29', whatever, those are just examples but i really hope this gets looked into, bc like someone said above we may be fucked later on bc of it

Mods are probably so busy trying to fix the new site they don't have time to deal with it. Which may be exactly what the boys were expecting.

i see similar activity on on-line auction sites like Craigslist time to time. eerily similar names, same fonts in ads, all using same e-mail system, all trying to "sell" a travel trailer, boat etc that their husband (who just died etc) left & they don't need/want to keep, and only asking about 10 % of the true value of what they are selling. buyer beware...

Everyone make sure your passwords are strong i.e a capital letter a symbol a number and at least 8 digits. The old site didn't have a requirement not sure about this one but it’s probably a good idea.

It's still continuing at the moment I type this.
Ain't there no Captcha thingy during registration?
I think the admins better look into increasing that level of security.

ATUK, please, see the first post into this thread. At the moment it looks like somebody is using botting software to register large amounts of usernames. Would it be possibly to increase the security (ie. better Captcha's,...etc)

maybe we can start a 'Bot-Spotting' forum - for all those who can 'spot-a-bot?' - lol - I have informed the webmaster of the imminent possibility of a bot invasion -

^The moderators better also start with warming up their banning finger. I hope they all have found the new banning button by now.

On top of the other stuff we're doing we've temporarily disabled new registrations for this morning. We'll remove bot accounts and add increased verification systems on new account registrations.

Thanks as always for pointing this out.

We've added a captcha to user registrations and unlocked registration again. We're now in the process of removing spam accounts.

Thanks
