Bopers Serious Seeds Chronic 1k watt closet

Hi, this is my first indoor grow and I have been researching everything now for a ittle over two years. I have read every book and magazine about the plant and I am now going for it. I have grown outdoors twice, nothing really incredible but hopefully that will change. My plants are started from seed, they are Serious Seeds Chronic. I chose this strain because its background is the famous NL, AK and skunk! I have had the plants under 12/12 for five days and before that they vegged under a MH 1000watt for three weeks. My soil mix is promix potting with a ton of perlite. My nutrients will be Gen Hydro Flora, Cal-mag, hydroguard, dutch master penetrator, Sweet, docs liquid carbon, bang!, earth juice, BCuzz Bloom and neem oil for pest problems. I know I will not need to use all of these chems but I bought everything as a package and got a decent deal. The walls are covered in mylar and the temps are 75 lights on and off (I have great ventilation and a temp controller with a heater for night!) I have been watering every four days with about 2 quarts of water for each bucket. I would love for the veterans to give out some pointers and maybe reccomend a nute ratio. I will not be able to have a ph or ppm tester this grow because I spent all my cash! But if you have any ideas or thoughts let me know!
I tried to upload my pics but it wont let me add the url, when I click add to post. Any Ideas?

I guess with the new rules you have to have more posts before you can post photos. Try it now or post a few times then try and put up some pics.. best of all just ask around..

Hey dude, I'm not sure if your ballast is similar to mine or not, but mine vents on both sides. It looks like you have yours sitting on end?

I dont know the brand but it is a switchable 1000watt ballast. I bought it from a guy who was forced to retire (hint). I do know it vibes just a little runs cool and is heavier than our national debt!

Keep the pictures coming and more will join in. Watch that heated warm air, it can get pretty dry. Not that you can do a while lot about humidity in the space you have, but its something to keep in mind.

Chronic is a stable easy to grow plant. You CAN NOT go wrong with Serious Seeds.

Have you read up on the method of LST (low stress training?) I think in your setup you would greatly improve your end yield if you used some of that Veg time productively.

Good luck and welcome to IC.

Hi germ. Its a pretty cold winter here and humid is about 22 percent so no worrys there. The ss website said not to top so I was thinkng about a screen after I weed out the males.

A scrog is one way to go...it is a lot of work, if you want to tend to them and have the time then go for it. I like being able to move them around for inspection so I use the LST method, but both accomplish the same goal of creating an even canopy for max bud sites.

If you LST them now, then you will be working toward your goal of having an even canopy before you have to weed out the males.

If you could get that Humidity level up the plants would love you for it, but 22 isn't bad.

new pics!!! I went through all the buckets and found two definate male and I found out that olivia was really a oliver! Still out of ten plants I still have six females and one that has not shown yet. Very happy with serious seeds so far. This chronic strain seems to be impossible to burn with a 1000watt hps! They are ten inches away from the air cooled hood and seems to love it more and more. They have now been flowering for thirteen days and are just growing great. I have grown outdoors but have never seen such fast growth. My only other strains were early girl and durban poison though. I will start cloning this week and by the end of harvest I will take a poll for you guys to chose which mom I should keep. By the way not much smell yet or too early to tell?

Hey bro. just remember to always maintain a SAFE distance if one variable fails. If the COOLING were to abrutly stop, then a lot of damage WILL take place in a very short period of time. Cloning is for PROFESSIONAL Breeders that have 20 years growing experience,.............so RELAX on that ambitious endeavour, plus grown from seed is always more VIGOROUS and lively in every way........Indoors, no matter what is a slow death sentence to any Elite Mother Plant just out of sheer boredom. They have a mind of their own!

Looking good around here, I just wanted to say that you if you can eliminate some of those unnecessary bends in your ducting it will make the fan run faster and quieter.

On the issue of your plants not smelling yet, I think you just got to give em a little more time. Once your babes have more resin glands they will start to stink terribly dont worry.

Well bro the grow looks good, shouldnt be too long till we see some buds. I got two girls that are about 2-3 days behind your batch, should be cool to watch them mature together. Peace bro.

Good idea Nkronic. I was thinking the same thing yesterday. I will cut it down to size and straighten it out when I get my filter. I figure I will do that and or go dwc for my next grow. Not really concerned about smell as there is none right now. But when the need arises i will install one pronto.

At first i thought that was sarcasm........i was just hoping

Cloning is easy once you get the hang of it and get a little set method. There are plenty of threads on here with various techniques that work.

i've recently been reading accounts on this site of mother plants kicking out clones that flower 1-2 days earlier each cycle. That speed is definitely one advantage of cloning. Sometimes a bit of uniformity and a knowledge of pretty much exactly what you're getting is great.

It's true that seeds are known for more vigorous growth than clones, but you can't deny the advantages to cloning.

I'm going to guess that Desiderata hasn't had much luck growing indoors under lights and has never successfully cloned a plant. Please, if you don't have real experience, don't advise someone based on an un-backed opinion.

no problem bopers.......

i still don't understand why people try to give advice on shite they have no clue about........its just annoying and actually pisses me off a lil when they do it to new members who are trying to learn and taking any advice they can get. I udnerstand wanting to help.........but stick to what you know when giving advice.

on the 'smell' note, get some sort of odor control as soon as you can. At least IME, the grower won't notice the smell before a visitor will, as the grower gets accustomed to the smell over time and builds up a sort of tolerance to it.

Lookin forward to updates!!
