boottom buds bigger than top?

it seems like my plants are finishing backwards...from what ive read usually the top cola finishes first and the bottom buds slowly afterwards. well im in week 6 of flowering. my plants are all from 12" to 19". it seems like the bottom side buds are growing bigger and maturing while the top cola isnt. i also noticed that on every one of my plants there are new white hairs being formed on the bottom of the plants and slowly making their way up to the top of the plants. this is consistent for all my plants. also, the 12" plants have their main stem filling in with buds providing a nice big cola, while the taller plants have a lot of filling in to do at the top. is this normal? it's an indica plant not sure about the strain, but the tops are very sparse and the bottoms are doing better. i noticed in the past week my plants started growing a lot denser but again, it started from the bottom. normal? something wrong? im growing in promix hp under 1000w hps.

oh yeah, trichomes are still clear and there is some red hairs but new white ones are being formed. also, when i look at the buds, the little green pods that the white hairs come out of are mostly closed on the top of the plants. that's what im talking about when im saying the bottom of the plants green pods are opening up and growing upwards. will the top still open up and produce more white hairs?

green pods = calyxes. What strain is it? Week 6 is when most plants stop producing calyxes and start swelling with resin so next week you should start seeing more and more red hairs. Given the size of your plants I'm guessing they're indica doms or auto-flower. And remember all the good stuff is coming from the promix, it'll be at the top soon.

Sounds like you may have your light too low and stressing the tops of your plants.

ya id look at the temps at cola level.. and also if u have that 1000 really slammed down (within 6 to 8 inches) u could be light bleaching the tops....
those are the two things that jumped out at me anyway.

damn,i used an Fluke infrared thermometer and the tops of the plants were 31.1 to 32.1 degrees celcius or 88 to 89 degrees farenheit. my 1000watters were 18" from closest plant top. moved them to 24". im in the 6th week of flower, is it too late to recover some top bud or am i stuck with all bottom bud?
