BOG's Bogglegum: an in depth view

There are 3 distinct phenos in this genepool (that i encountered) I will review each, I have a lot of pics of the keeper and a few randoms of the others.

Appearance: (pheno A or NL leaning, or "A" from now on) big fluffyish bright green buds, a little leafy, but nice looking. medium sized calyxes with thick orange stigmas. (7/10) (pheno B or close to pure bubblegum, or "B" from now on) rock hard diamond mines glistening with sweet goodness (8.5/10) (pheno C or somewhere in between A and B, "C" from now on) neon green super dense nugs dripping with oils and resins, bright orange stigmas, great bag appeal (9/10)

Odor: (A) after a good cure the smell of baked goods(cakes, muffins) comes through, very pleasant, smells "warm" if that is a smell? (8/10) (B) sickly sweet gum and earthen tones with a touch of skunk (8/10) (C) Grape big league chew bubble gum, I've had multiple sources confirm the smell, very nice (9/10)

Taste: (A) a little grassy and disappointing but still very pleasant so smoke (6/10) (B) VERY sweet earth flavor, the gum smell doesn't really transfer into taste in this one , but that doesn't mean its bad... (7.5/10) (C) Exactly like the smell! even sweeter perhaps? either way fabulous! (9/10)

Potency: (A) heavy indica, pretty strong (8/10) (B) more euphoric indy high you can feel a twinge of sativa dancing in your head, very nice character but not quite potent enough (7.5/10) (C) similar high to "B" but with a major creeper effect, one bong hit and it will get your head thumpin' but that's where the ride begins, after 10-15min waves of euphoria and giggles come on and then after an hour or so, lights out! love the stuff (9.5/10)

Growth: (A) bullet-proof 63 day'er, nice little bushes, no complaints nice yields (9/10) (B) done in 45 flat but with reduced yields, also very forgiving (8.5/10) (C) The best of both worlds, fast and heavy 47-49 days with very nice yields (9.5/10)

Finals: (A) good plant all around (8/10) (B) (8.5/10) (C) What a winner! (9.5/10)

Great review! So pheno C was the keeper? Did you keep a cutting? Were these authentic Bog seeds?

Thanks, "C" was definitely the keeper I ran the cutting indoor and out at least 10 times but i lost it in a move due to a BIG fumble by my friend, I lament it all the time... Also, yes, these were authentic bog beans circa '02-'03

indeed, it sux, however, "B" through out a nanner in early'ish flower and i got about 8 f2's and they were all taken from buds from "C" so it's a cross of the two. I stupidly gave them to another friend and he lost them! BAH! But then a ray of hope... in a little jar that i was saving some "C" for a rainy day I cracked a juicy nug in half and out popped a single solitary f2 which is now in my fridge. My most closely guarded seed don't know when I will pop it....

lol of course it's a seed, therefore was fertilised with male counterpart and has a good chance of being either a male or female plant

Didn't a and b have bright orange hairs as you described them as well? C looks like it is on the downside prior to the chop. The a and b pics just don't look as far along that's why no stigmas turning orange.

Edit: looks nice none the less. I still have some original seeds he sent me of Bogglegum. Be interesting to see which phenos i get. Thanks for breaking it down.

the post was in reference to somas way of making feminised seeds. the method is to make a female throw nanners and pollinate another. this supposedly makes female only seeds.

I started some F2's of these,2 females....just started bloom cycle 14-15 days ago,hoping one will be a keeper. I'll post pics and results soon.

Bogglegum grown from seed, harvest about a month ago, similar maybe to pheno B?:



Aroma is sweet bubblegum with some skunk and a tangy nose flaring tang. The other phenos I've come across in the past have been slightly sweeter+flowery and without the tangyness. (haven't seen the grape big league chew pheno yet, that sounds GREAT, I'll be praying for it)

Taste is smooth bubblegum with some tang. High is great but I wish it was stronger, its enjoyable to smoke lots of this stuff at once, can't get enough of that tang.
