Three of the same carrots have dried out twice this week. Anyone know why this is happening? Do they need to be replaced?

The only time a carrot should dry is when the medium becomes too dry.
You could be loosing head pressure in your tank if your res is not being topped off constantly. I find that if I set my drippers while my tank is half full and let them run everything is cool, but adding the rest of the water to the tank makes them run hardcore. Once the tank is below the set point they run less. You have to find a good balance.

The upper res is constantly topped off, I guess I will soak them overnight, reset them and see what happens. I just ordered blumats for two other rooms I am putting together, I should have ordered extras

Make sure your carrots are filled AND soaked - caps tight, no clogged lines, and good pressure from high res.

Whats the medium? Straight coco, dirt, lots of perlite? Its crucial that the ceramic cone makes good contact with a wicking media. "Looser" substrate can cause problem here as the airy medium sucks the moisture from the cone instead of allowing it via the pinch valve.

When you are finding them dry.. are they also flowing full bore?
Make sure you drench heavily before dialing to cling or so.

I'm in 70/30 coco chunky perlite and air pots, the first time the pots were flooded and the drip pans overflowing with water they were dripping fast but not streaming, this time the pots were just dry and when I looked at the carrot I saw what I thought were air bubbles just under the top, but it turned out to be little drops of water on the inside of an empty carrot. It has been two maybe three days since I refilled and soaked them for an hour before resetting them. I soak them and before reinserting them I take the top off under water to get any bubbles out and screw it together underwater. I fully drench the pots and dial to a cling plus 1.5

What I do is dial them loose enough to give me some runoff in the saucer and then dial them back until I dont get any runoff. Ive found that the bottom of my 5gal pots dry out if I dont dial using runoff as my guide.
I also bleed then line and then give them a decent soak with the hose every now and then, but so far Ive been so relaxed in the grow since setting everything up. The noise from the res topping off and the light hum of the fans is very soothing, I almost want to sleep in there. I used to work my ass off!
