Bluelab Truncheon Faulty?

Hey all, I got an old V1 Bluelab truncheon (the ones with the old style round led's), just recently its started showing some strange behaviour, some of other LED's on the truncheon are very dimly illuminated when testing.

If the mix is say, EC 1.6, the 1.6 LED is flashing brightly as normal (Although sometimes it flashes a lot slower than other times), but I can also see the EC 2.2 (and sometimes one other) lit / flashing very dimly.

Anyone else had similar issues?

Tried a couple sets of new batteries, but with no joy thus far..

Its strange cus it seems to be perfectly accurate readings from it, just can see other LED's dimly lit up (or flashing).

I have had a few issues with battery connection in the past though (needing to fiddle around with the screwcap) so maybe I need to get some wire wool on the end of a stick and try to clean the terminal(s) inside.
